My Maxped. Vulture II came in today. I'm really happy with it so far. It is way more rugged than I thought it would be. It is without a doubt the stoutest material I have ever felt in a pack.

That material really is tough! I was suprised when I got my Condor II at the weight of pack totally empty.

I got one a few weeks ago myself and it's great. What color did you get Trenton?

I re-created somewhat the side pockets that the Pygmy Falcon II has for water bottles; one side of my pack has a 10x4 bottle holder with a stainless Guyot bottle and cup, and I fixed a mini rolly poly to the other side with a plastic Nalgene bottle. Now it's just a matter of getting a 100 oz water bladder to put in the compartment..

Good buy. I've been contemplating the purchase of either the Vulture or the Condor, but have yet to make the purchase. I really wish I could see them in person to compare sizes, etc. I think I'm leaning towards the Condor, but since I also want to be able to use it as a work bag, I need to make sure my laptop will fit.

I got the khaki bag. I like the pygmy falcon mod idea. I think I might try and rig something up like that before the next hike. Right now I have a two little zip tie things that go around the neck of a normal water bottle that I hang off my day pack. It works but the bottles hang freely which can get annoying after about 50' of walking.

A laptop would definitely fit in a condor. However, I am pretty sure that there is not a dedicated compartment specifically for a laptop.

Good to know. I could throw it in a laptop sleeve first if I needed to. But when carting back and forth to work, since it would mainly be kept with notebooks, etc it would probably be safe.

And now found a local shop that sells them (optactical), but they don't have any in stock, just my luck.

I purchased an extra sheath for the shoulder strap for my Vulture II. The cord attachment doesn't look pretty but it works, and that is what matters. Good luck with yours. I humped mine all over China when my wife and I adopted our daughter...

Congrats on the bag. I'm slowly making my BOB out of a Eberlestock Gunslinger II. It's coming along really slowly since funds are low.
