Hello all, I just got my B10!!! thank you lovely ladies of Busse!

It is a fantastic feeling knife, the handles are great. I got the choil version.

My question is for those that received theirs already is the tip dull, squared, or rounded?

I plan on using mine and it is rounded at the tip, you can press your finger hard against it without discomfort.

For making a fire drill set I dont know if it would work as well as it could.

So is this just the way it came or should i contact the office.

here are some pics.

thanks guys and thanks Busse!:)

I haven't received my yet, but I HOPE they have a sharp point! That was the only thing I found lacking on the SAR-6 and SAR-8.

The only pics I took of mine are crappy cell phone pics and no close ups of the tip, that said I think mine is pointy at the end but will check. As far as contacting office, I would say it is up to you, if that bugs you then by all means give them a call

all these seem to be sharpened by Beef, who knows, by the time he got to the higher numbers he could have been drunk ;)

Tom, this one is rounded like a safety knife, well maybe not that bad.
:D
But I gotta say it is one of the sharpest Busse knives I have ever received out of the box, Beef you done good on the edge.

My choiless B10 tip looks like yours too. Not very pointy when compared to my B11's tip......or even my B6 LE tip for that matter.

Mine is number 1 and was sharpened by Alan.

In some ot the other pics that have been posted it looks like they had a nice sharp tip, so I'm hoping that mine will also. Should find out this week!;)

If you plan on using it, can't you just sharpen it so it will get pointy? Thats usually the first thing i do to all my blades :)

yeah, but with the convex edge to sharpen that to a point I imagine you would either need a grinder or sand paper and a ton of patience.

I should also add that Busse has the best warranty and Customer Service in the business; USE it! Just follow Jerry's instructions as posted and "stickied" above.;)

Got mine today, mine is definitely rounded as well.

But the edge is definitely shaving sharp.

Newsflash!!! My B-10's just arrived, SHARP and with good points!!! Ole' Beefcake Beef did an EXCELLENT job on these blades! WOO-HOO!!!

Zero edges require quite a bit of blending. It is this blending that will often cause the tip to be ever so slightly rounded.

I have heard many regail the benefits of a rounded tip in so far as it strengthens the tip and increases your slashing surface at the very point. . . All of my personal knives have these micro rounded tips for this very reason. :D

You will be pleasantly surprised when stabbing with these as well, as the penetration can often seem to be greater.

Look at the world of broadheads and you will see where many have started putting chisel tips on their broadheads instead of pointy tips in order to increase penetration.

Try that tip out. . . beat it like you stole it. . . if it's not your game, and you want it pointier, just send it in and we'll make it as pointy as you like at no charge. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

Let's Drink!!!

Jerry
