That was fast. I'll take one for no choil, please :)
Hah, I jest, I don't even have my B10 yet... for now.

Al, Awesome pics!
Those kydex knife holders look great. I was wanting leather, but... I'll decide when my knives finally arrive. I still am waiting on even a hint as to delivery, but nada. Perhaps tomorrow.
Anyone wanting kydex should speak with azwelke, he does excellent work.

I just weighed them..

Choiless 14.4 oz

Choil 14.6 oz

I was surprised the choiless was lighter.
Both very nice and light for such a large blade.:thumbup:

The more I look at it, that more the choiless version grows on me.

Nice pic up Al

Nice pants sir, do we need to send emails for price requests? Noob question but how do you attach them to belts/backpacks, overalls made for molle or tekloks? They look really nice and.....hold the phone, is that the mailman with a box for me???

Al,
That is some fast work however, I bet you can make them blindfolded you build so many sheath's. My B-10 shipped 3 days ago but don't look like it's moving very far, very fast. It left Ohio, now sit's in Michigan according to tracking ?????? Dang Postal service :( Boo Hoo !! Anyway, great looking sheath's you made.

Al,

Congrats
 Great looking sheaths:)

WOW:eek: You are a super fast kydex bender:)

Congrats! Oh boy, the Basic 10 LEs are sure to be classics. They seem amazing.

Mine arrived yesterday as well, but my mail carrier didn't ring my doorbell. I'll be picking them up tomorrow! I can't wait!

Now what will excite me is a Kydex Guru, such as yourself making a sheath that fits both :D. It's the holidays, what can I say? I'm cheap during the holidays.

My sheaths fit both:) A sheath made for either one will fit the other:):thumbup:

There was some confusing terms present in the description of choil/ricasso/lengths here. Yes the ricasso is smaller on the choiless version, which would account for the lower weight. Even though it seems like your taking out a lot by removing the choil material - all of that on the choiless version is really thin, it's all 1/2 the thickness of the spine or less, leading down to .045" at the edge. Thats not that much weight - but if you add full thickness for an extra half inch, you end up with a considerably more metal even taking out the thin web of metal that took up the choil space.

So given the confusion - what is the length of each blade from the edge of the reciprene c handle (at the ricasso's start) to the tip?

They are both the same length from Res c to tip....10 3/16"
