Good analogy Dino,

Tough, stout and powerful. Good snag. There'll be a bunch'a folks along soon sad they missed another chance at one of Ray's Bulldogs. :)

Great looking stubby, Ray. I know you don't like doing them, but I think the hamon almost always is a nice touch to a blade. I like mine!

This was a perfect buying experience. Ray was fast in getting the sheath made and the knife shipped. The knife is better than the photo. His communications with me were prompt and kept me up to date.

It's here and:

The wood looks better than the photo and has a nice tactile "feel" to it. The handle fits my hand like he made it to my measurements.
The blade has a pleasing shape and the temper line adds to the hand-made craftsman look. The fit of the parts is great.
The balance is about 1/4 inch behind the guard and feels right for the blade length. It If I fill my deer tag this fall, I'll give an in-use report.
The sheath is a dark brown (just what I wanted Ray) and the snap is blued to match the look.
If you see one of his knifes, feel safe in buying it. He is on my list of guys to by from.
Texas Slim and Bill, you would have liked it too, but I'm keeping it : D It's my Bulldog. Now I'll have to save up to get a big brother to match...

A short follow up. It was used in the field during a mule deer hunt on Monday. Still sharp and the blade shape worked well inside and out. A much more skilled friend did the field work. He said the blade edge and shape were real good for using rather than just for looking. The perfect cleaning/dressing knife as described by him sounds almost exactly like Ray's Cricket, but with a half guard.
Ray?

Nice knife. Guys, buy his stuff. But after I'm through :-)

Wow, thanks Dino for the kind words.. This one was sold months ago. You didn't really miss it. I haven't made a baby bowie since this one.
