back from Finnland (dogsledding)

Great stuff! Thanks for following up with the knife info and for the great photos.

The Boker didn't look that big in the first post. That thing is a brute.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your adventure, I really enjoyed the read. Out of curiosity what flashlight/s were you using?

Very interesting, love to see things from parts of the world I will probably never get the chance to visit. The closest to Finland I'll ever get is my M39:)

Thanks for taking the time to share your trails.

It looks like it was a good experience....despite the absence of clear skies (believe me I can appreciate that).

Hope to visit the Finnish wilderness one day soon....maybe a hunting or fishing trip. My Sissipuuko will have to join me too.
*Fingers crossed*

I look forward to seeing some more pictures.

Thanks again & kind regards

The so and I are saving for a trip to Norway or Finland. After seeing pictures like this I always change my mind about where to go. Awesome.

A night in the "mother of all wilderness cabins": a solar powered fridge. OK. winter, darkness, bad weather, no sun - - no power.
I don't really know what they need it for anyway.

"What? You prefer brown-eyed? No? Blue-eyed? Well, I offer both!"

Suzi, Martin's favourite lead dog. He says, they are going to retire together. In the future he will concentrate more on summer guest, that come for fishing.
The lodge is right by a beautiful river, which streams into a lake about a mile downstream.

The cabin in the morning, on the right you see an outside barbecue place and behind that (barely visible in the back) the "outhouse"
And since this in in Finnland even the remotest cabin usally has an additional sauna cabin (in this pic not visible, because located right behind the main cabin.)

Great thread, thanks for sharing all the wonderful photographs and stories! Good to see „Old Europe“ is invading Bladeforums ;) Grüezi!

Thanks for all the comments. Well bladeforums is just a wonderful place for sharing interests and information.
I would love to go on adding more pics, but photobucket doesn't work at the moment. Stay tuned.
