Back from Lake Tahoe

BTW, we used to do Eagle Lake as a day trip but there can be a lot of folks up there as well.

Yeah, we were thinking about going to Eagle Lake, but ended up going a bit further to check out the Rubicon. There were indeed quite a bit of folks in that area, while the Rubicon was nearly empty . Will have to check it out the next time (and trips into the Desolation Wilderness)!

Glad you enjoyed the pics HJ, and thanks The Game .

Looks like you have a great trip. I lived in the Tahoe area for a number of years and miss it a lot.

Great view and great pics brother.

I love seeing the Becker blades get some playtime. Did your Bravo-1 and Gunny make the trip?

Glad you guys enjoyed it!

I am envious of you, I bet you sure do miss it :)

Bravo-1 and Gunny did not make the trip this time, I already had too many other blades with me and really wanted to give the others (especially the NWA) a bit of a work out. It seemed like the Bravo-1 was getting all the love previously, had to show the others some affection. One or the other will make an appearance on my next outing though :D Probably the Gunny as I haven't spent much time with it yet, and want to test it out.

It's funny you asked, I had hard time deciding which blades I wanted to take along with me this weekend. I never had this problem back when I had only 2 or 3 fine knives...:o:D

I used to backpack the Desolation Wilderness many years ago. However, I understand that because it is the most heavily used wilderness area in the US, they no longer allow backcountry campfires. That really kills my enthusiasm.

Yeah, I've read that they only allow stoves for cooking now.:(

Thanks for all the help Dave! Obviously we made it to neither Eagle nor Velmas, but we'll check them out on the next trip .

Glad you had a good time! At least the campfire ban won't negatively impact day hiking.

Yup, already planning which areas I want to check out next time .

Thanks Mist, and yes, the Scout is a great knife:thumbup:. I was worried at first about the versatility of the handle, but it surprisingly works well in all my normal grips . Still need to get around to doing a formal review....it'll be my first :).
