hey folks.. how goes it...

we just got in about 2 hours ago.. i am beat down... and i still have to unpack the car and go get some food for dinner, since we don't have any..

we had such a good time.. we wish we could have stayed.. there is just so much exploring to do and not enough time... as usual...
The Town of Mammoth Lakes lies at an elevation of about 7900 feet above sea level.. it's a small little ski town that is also a a mtn. biking mecca, during the off season... the fishing was spectacular.. we were surrounded by lakes in all directions..

anyhow.. here's a few pics...

sunrise heading into the sierra's..

we took HWY 120, Tioga Pass, which also goes through Yosemite and Tuolumne Meadows... it is an amzing drive... my wife used to live in Tuolumne back in her hardcore trail builder days.. she hadn't been back there in years.. we took our time and had some breakfast along the way, before heading into mammoth...

Nice fish dude. Looks like you had the same luck as I did over the weekend.

Good thing the woman came through.

thanks for all the comments so far folks... sorry for the delay.. i had to run to the store and do dinner...

here's some more...

we hiked the 2 mile(one way), Duk pass trail, that takes you to a whole slough of lakes.. we were heading to Arrow Head lake(elevation 9,875) to do some more fishing and escape the crowds..

a pic of my buddy Greg and I.. Greg is a good friend of ours.. some of you might have seen his mug before, in some of my archery shoot pics... he is a teacher here in Felton and he spends his summers at a condo he owns in Mammoth... huh what a bummer for him... Santa Cruz and Mammoth.. he is an avid archer, mtn. biker and fisherman...

looks pretty rad. Damn your buddy does have it rough. Summers in one of the greatest mtn bike scenes in the country? Boohoo for him!:(

aaaaannnnnddd a few more...

we added our bows and quivers to gregs bow rack and this is what you see when you first walk into grege's house, while we were there...

Greg has a cool little stump course, set a few miles away from his house... we got to have a nice morning of shooting... it was cool to shoot in a pine forest, as apposed to the redwoods or oaks that i'm used to...

Dang Mike that looks like an awesome time! Beautiful area up there, I'm jealous :D Great pics.

Awesome pics Mike. Looks like you had a great time. That is the biggest problem with getting out to places like that isn't it? It never seems to last long enough.

I am sooo fishing jealous of you guys. Watch out for those women, my wife almost always outfishes me ever since I got here hooked(pun intended, lol) about 2 years ago.

P.S. The last picture of post #2 should be printed and put on your mantel! It's an absolutely perfect family picture.
