Back From PWYP

Well we got home Monday night about 7PM. It's exactly 1000 miles for us one way and even though I dread the trip it is worth it. We had over 90 folks who came out this year and over 70 knives were given out in the free raffle. Bark River donated 45 knives, Kabar, Tops, Blind Horse and a couple of others also donated knives. This is the premier Rendezvous, not just on the East Coast but anywhere. Most of the major forums were represented. I did a 3 day survival course and I even had a student from Israel. Sorry but my lack of computer skills and my slow dial-up won't allow me to post pictures but if anyone is interested they can see them on the Outdoor survival sub forum on Knifeforums. There are about a couple hundred of pics.
Anyway, if anyone is interested, start planning for next year (April 2009).
See some of you soon at the Connecticut skills gathering.

Wow I like the new look of the beckers!!!! One of these days I will try to make to one of these events.
 
Marty, wanted to thank you for the excellent class and company at PWYP, it was great to meet you and Aggie and Bobby. Sorry I didn't make it back on Saturday, but being able to take off earlier in the week for your class more than made up for that!

I'm going to try to do a quick writeup of the course for the forum with the few photos that I took.

Next year I'll be there for all of PWYP and I'll take you up on that hot dog dinner!

I was so going to be there. *sniffle* Had to abort at the last minute. *sob* Had to do gardening instead. *whimper* Got a bad sunburn *wince*Not making that mistake again.
 
Looks like a ton of fun. Wish I could have made it. Those new beckers look sick, I want one of the recurves.
 
Sounds like a great time as usual Marty. Looking forward to seeing you and Aggie next month in Va. :thumbup:

i'm glad you folks had a great time... i love seeing all of those pics.... i have wanted to go to PWYP for years... april is just a busy month for us...
 
Nice meeting you Marty, & everyone else that was there. This was my 1st PWYP & I plan on making it next year.

ETA: I think nthese are the new Beckers. If so, I'm extremely excited.

They are new Beckers. However remember that these were prototypes and they were passed around for the week and Ethan Beacker took a poll on which knives were the favorites. They will not all be made. I think he said they would be put into production around June but don't quote me on that.
