I go to the Outer Banks every year with my family, along with another family and rent out one of the large beach houses in what seems to be the same fashion you did. It is always a great time. We go to the island Ocracoke. Its a quaint little island, with no buildings over 2 stories or or large shopping centers..just what I like.

We did a lot of fishing there but we caught mainly black drum and sea trout. Other fish included a pufferfish, bluefish (which were also quite prevalent), and a flounder.

Once again thanks for sharing...this year I couldn't go :(

There was a pretty big fireworks accident/explosion in Ocracoke while we were down there. I believe about 4 people died. We were nowhere near it and didn't hear it at all.

Yeah i just found out about that after i posted..quite tragic. Although, i dont know the details because i just saw it was mentioned on wiki
