Well, I've been back pocket carrying my Rough Rider barlow at work for a few months now. I figured that with the knife costing $7.50 it didn't matter if I screwed it up. Thing is, it's still in good shape and not bent up. I am on my feet all day and I usually remember to take it out before I sit down, but not always.

Anyone back pocket carry as their norm? And are any knife particularly suited for it?

Mine rides in the bottom of my baggy work pants and is holding up surprisingly well.

i sometimes clip my cold steel ti-lite to my back left pocket bc i can deploy it faster that way (im a lefty). sometimes i put my case trapper next to my wallet too

yep, often a large eye brand sodbuster, my buck 110, a buck 110 paperstone when i want less weight, and a rough rider liner lock sodbuster style bone scaled knife. i don't pull it out to sit i just sit on it and to tell the truth it's jammed against my wallet and i don't notice it being there. so far none of mine have bent, broken or messed up in anyway that i noticed.

i am often without enough front pocket space and the backpocket worked when i was younger and it works again when i don't have room in a front pocket for a clipped folder.

You are worried about it getting bent up in your back pocket??? Really? I should think any decent pocket knife should be able to hold up in a back pocket.

I have back-pocket carried a Benchmade 943 for about 7 or 8 years now, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I did once catch the clip on a doorjamb and bent it slightly, but that was simple enough to fix. When I sit down, I am not sitting on it either. In fact, none of the back pockets on any of my clothes are deep enough where I would be sitting on objects in them.

I've been back pocket carrying a Victorinox Climber next to my wallet for years. It stands upright next to my wallet, and the lanyard I tied makes it easy to retrieve.

Only issue is when I remove my wallet - I have to remember to reposition the knife when the wallet goes back in.

I've never had a problem sitting while the knife was back there - I never remove it.

I back pocket carry about half the time. I keep the knife on the outside of the pocket, so that when I sit, it doesn't carry all that much of my prodigious weight. I've never had a problem doing it that way. And if it slipped towards the inside of the pocket, for most of my knives, I'd be more worried with the discomfort of sitting on it, than with the damage I'd cause it.

I always back pocket carry, on the outside of the pocket, vertically (clipped). Its to keep me from feeling it when I sit down, and still keeping it accessible.

Back pocket for my slipjoints and clipless units. I've never lost one from there , sit on it all the time and I never hang upside down. :)

I can't stand anything other than change in my front pocket and if my knife was there it doesn't sit right in the cloth pocket , unless it's clipped.

Moved to back pocket carry about 6 months ago. Love the convenience and use of "pocket space" as I never had anything in right back pocket. In front I continued to find the knife added clutter to an already full pocket.

I carried a Case trapper throughout my college years, and still do sometimes. It's still going strong, never got bent or damaged in any way.
My back pocket has carried knives just as often as my front: balisongs, lockbacks, clipped one-handers, traditional slipjoints, even fixed blades, all without incident.
Back pocket is a fine way to go!

My Blur rolls in my pack pocket when I carry it, and it has no problems. I can't even tell it is there.

I carry granddads old Boker peanut in my LBP all the time. Sometimes at work it's harder for me to get into my FP than the rear.

seems like more of a slippie conversation but i edc a fixed blade everyday in my left ass pocket. I would always rather have a fixed blade. It was a bk11 for a LONG time, now its my grail knife a fiddleback forge palmer. The bk11's slender sheath disappeared in my pocket, and the fiddlebacks feels like a wallet with a clip. neither bothers me when i sit, and i cant feel them at all when i stand, but the pommels stick out just enough to be able to grab em when i need them. I even put both in my pocket for this pic, and still wasnt uncomfortable. as far as breaking one (either fixed or folder) by sitting id doubt any knife worth $5 wouldnt break in a pocket. Again if this was a slippie talk, sorry, but i figured id add a fixed blade story as well

I only carry in my right back pocket at the office because I don't want any of my other co-workers to freak out. My shirt is always un-tucked so it conceals it well. I use to carry a Spyderco Military but my new PM2 seems to have taken up a permanent residence there.

[SUB][/SUB]I always carry my larger knife in my right back pocket with my wallet and have never ruined my knife. I never take it out before I sit down either.

Howdy Clich...I know you just got it and been waitin' a while to get it but if you EVER want to part with that palmer you let me know.....thanks!

When I worked armed security, I would carry my Spyderco Endura in the back pocket due to my holster covering my front pocket. I carried it there for 5 years with no issues other than the clip getting caught in the fabric of some chairs and coming out if I was not careful.

I carry any of my pocket knives with clips in my back pocket, including all those as large as the BM Rukus and CRK Umnumzaan. No problems, much more comfortable and convenient than sitting in my front pockets :)
