As the title says I am searching for a suitable fixed blade for back pocket carry. I want a relativly traditional looking knife, no tanto or recurves. Thanks for your suggestions.

I've actually been interested in something similar. A fixed, pocket-carry fixed blade, in a traditional style, blade under 3" and preferably just over 2".

There are some nice ones on the A.G. Russel site, I wonder what else is available?

I have a knife from Gene Ingram that has a back pocket sheath to it, and its fantastic! I can't recommend his work enough.

What are the prices for those customs? I really like the price of the AG Russel but it is slightly smaller then what I was invisioning. I am very grateful to the responses to this thread. Also what is the abillity of Back Pocket Carry (BPC) with a ontario rat-3.

I would not discount a Bob Dozier fixed blade. He makes custom kydex sheaths to order and may already have a pattern for one similar to a wallet style for one of his smaller knives. Not only that but his regular horizontal carry sheaths are also the best in the business.

For that matter he may still make a sheath for other makes of knives. I know he did at one time. So if you find the perfect knife but in the wrong carry option one of the sheath makers or kydex makers like Bob may be able to put it in a package that you can live with.

I'm relatively sure they could take one of their regular leather sheaths and make it a little wider, more wallet-width.

FoxholeAtheist, that is an outstanding picture of a great knife. I find the Grahams' leather and kydex sheaths both work well in my front or back pocket and even clipped to a heavy belt.

Try a Charles May FireAnt. I have a D2, scandi ground, FireAnt and I love it, great little knife.

One of the small Bark Rivers would work as well.

It is a beautiful shot. One day I hope to be able to take shots like that... but it would help if I spent some time and/or money on doing so. :D

Naahhh ... just get one of those palm-sized digi cameras at the grocery store checkout. The plastic clampack card says they do everything. :D

Travis,
The RAT-3 comes with a fitted Kydex that has a removeable clip on the back. Take it off (two small bolts/nuts) and a TekLok is included which can be bolted on. Then, there's always paracord you can supply for neck carry. Very nice setup.

Enderwiggin,
You just might be describing a Benchmade 210TK or 211. Blades on these two beauties are 2.125". Perfect for neck carry, pocket, or belt...even inside the wasitband. Check out the knifecenter or knifeworks, savsonswordsandknives, newgraham, or Benchmade (for specs and good pictures). These are all dot com addresses.

Ender Wiggin,

Just ask yourself, "what would Peter buy?"

(Ender's Game is one of my favorite books, not to hijack this thread).
