Back Spacer on CRKT Kasper

Can anybody tell me what the back spacer is made of ? As I would like to try my hand at file working the spacer on a less expensive knife first. I think that iy is Aluminum (sp?) if so it will be easier to file.

Yeah, it's aluminum. I've taken mine apart and given it a hand-rubbed finish. Chris Raymond also tried his hand at fileworking his CRKT backspacer. You might also pick up some mild steel or something to practice fileworking.
