Back to Fixed Blades...........

Neil, you are one of my favourite knife designers of all time :)

Wow! Thanks. That really means a lot. The past few years have been crazy and I haven't been very creative as far as new designs. That's over and I'm back to doing a lot of drawing again. I never produced many different models as the few I've done keep my busy. There WILL be at least one new folder in '13 AND some other versions of my "I Beam" tang fixed blades.

I really like this knife Mr. Blackwood. Different from any other design that I personally have seen. I think elegant is the word to describe it.

Thanks for sharing it,

Nathan

Those knives look great! I, too, would like to get my hands on one or two of them, or one of that size and one of the smaller size that you were talking about for my wife. I am still new around here, so I apologize in advance if my next question is answered elsewhere, but will you be letting people know when you have these for sale or how could I find out?

Thanks in advance!

Jake

Nathan,

I came up with the original design years ago and made many with tapered tangs and glue and pin construction. I later made a simpler skeletonized version more similar to this one. I had a lot of requests for them again and decided to come out with the version seen here. Also, this design led to the folder versions. First a botton lock, then the framelock flipper that I currently make. These designs are also what inspired the Benchmade Ruckus design.

Here's one with some premium "tree" as my customer calls it :)

Now that one looks GREAT Neil!

(well, you know me (or not), but I just prefer natural handle materials!)

Very nice model!

Kind regards,

Jos

Thanks!! Yes, I needed to get out more :)

I just finished the first hand rubbed ones. The S35VN takes a nice finish, WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY better than S30V! I'll take some pics in the morning.

I'd love to see some of your folders too, maybe you can start a Skirmish thread one day.

I can do that. I have a LOT more folder pics that fixed blades. I made about a dozen of the full size Skirmishes this year. They were an updated design, basically enhancing the handle ergos. I also tweeked the blade profile a little. I'll post some pics ASAP.

Here's the first hand rubbed one. The pics make it look scratchy :( This one is CPM154 but I also did an S30VN blade that came out nice, much to my surprise :D
