I stopped collecting knives several years ago, as I thought I found my grail knife, which was the large sebenza with Gabon inlay.

I recently suffered heart failure, my left side was collapsing and they had to install a pump (lvad) to keep blood flowing to my body. I was tied to a hospital bed for months, losing my job and home rental. My sister had to move all my stuff out and in the process, she threw away many of my prized collections unknowingly. Some of it I still have luckily.

But a few days ago, I finally ordered a new grail. A shirogorov Hati Gen 3. Should be here in a few days!

I'm glad you're doing better! I just recently came back to the knife community after several years as well. You'll probably notice that quite a bit has changed since you left, depending on how long you were gone. The first thing I noticed is that knife designs as a whole have shifted in a bit of a different direction and that what your average knife nut deems important in a knife design has changed quite a bit also.

Nice choice on knife!

I'm jobless so I hope I don't impulse buy lol

Heart is one of the ONLY medical issues I've not had. I hope you have a good recovery. I hate hospitals.
Oh it was terrible! I was stuck to a bed for 4 weeks, couldn't sit up, stand up, nothing. Had to eat laying down.
Had this balloon pump in my leg and couldn't not bend my body.
They gave me a urinary cath, foley, which was not fun.
It was hell.
Then open heart surgery, when I woke up, immense pain, even with heavy pain killers.
They did give me this one that instantly made the pain go away, but made me vomit a lot. Nurse said it made morphine look like advil.

Spent about 2 months total in the hospital. And now have 10 lbs of medical device attached to me permanently, cord comes out my abdomen.

Spent a crap ton of money on some hobbies though...
Bought an air rifle and all the bells and whistles, new knife, new flashlights, and hopefully not too much more!

This is pretty sexy though.
0.30 cal, 45 grain slug, semi auto, 800+ fps, 60 lbs force, and makes very little sound.

I've spent my life in and out of the hospital since I was 11 when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I spent the entirety of 2018 in the hospital with liver failure and complications from a bad liver transplant (which includes cancer and 2 strokes). I'm 43, but feel so much older.

Wow! I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay! Got to make the most of it.

I'm 41, doc said the average lvad patient has 5 to 7 years to live. Why I'm blowing through my savings...

They go up to 0.7 caliber, 1500 lbs force. Easily takes down large game.

Mine is rated for medium game like deer and boar.
Yeah I've heard that the big 50 cal air rifles are big with poachers in Africa. They're especially handy for a poacher because they're so quiet compared to a big game rifle. Sucks that poachers are profiting off them, but I'd love to get my hands on one.

That makes sense. Fuck poachers.

I do want a big bore, maybe a 0.50 cal.
Soon they will make a 0.50 cal semi auto or full auto LOL

I swear, another 10 years, air rifles will catch up or surpass firearms.

Haha, a full auto .50 cal air rifle... Now that would be something to see! Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what the future of air rifles is. And I agree on the poachers comment.

You would probably need some pretty H U G E air tanks to power them...
