Great pics, thanks for sharing. That looks like a beautiful place.

I'd have been a little freaked out about the bear poo.

Stubbornest dog I've ever owned. He trained easily and is usually cooperative, but if he decides he doesn't want to go somewhere you can't drag him there with both hands on the collar. Never had a dog I couldn't move before. I like his character and sense of determination. You have to partner with these dogs and respect their independence.

Very true, and well said.

I do pay attention. Last year on the same trail about a thousand feet higher I came across 5 piles of bear scat in an area of heavy growth with lots of berries. The part that scared me a bit was the ominous growl and heavy crashing of brush that I heard less than 20 ft from the trail. Fortunately, he was going away from me rather than coming closer. I had to catch my breath on that one. :o

Bill --

I was just looking at the picture taken off of your deck. Are you on North Mesa??

I'm near Guaje Pines. PM me some time and we could get together for a hike. Are you free next Friday??

You bet. Ten day forecast looks good. PM sent.

P.S. Looks like you need to activate you PM capability. I don't see a send PM option.
