Back with photos from the Wilderness Learning Center Reunion Canoe Camping Trip 2008

We made a few crafts out of the birch bark like makeshift containers but the bark was a bit old, rigid and difficult to shape. Aggie took home a lot of it and I'm sure she'll have some finished products for me to snap photos of when I head back to Chateaugay, NY in a couple of weeks.

As far as the buttpack, it is a standard Eagle Industries military style butt pack. I put some pouches on the sides from Tactical Tailor and use it as a shoulder bag. It has been a constant companion for years now but will soon be replaced by a Kifaru Tailgunner pack.

The machete does come standard with that sheath. The Baldric Rig is separate and both sheath and Baldric are made by Sharpshooter Sheath Systems.

I'm glad you guys like the pics. I'm sure Marty, Aggie and Jerry will post the ones they have when they unpack, dry off and get some free time.

I like that dog jacket with the grab handle. I've had to drag mine out of fast flowing by the the scruff whilst using the other hand to hold on. He's heavy enough dry, on land, and without anxiety.

I am glad that you all had a great time !!! It looks like so much fun. Good food and the outdoors always are a great mix.

Kevin,

Looks like great time, nothing like grilling in the in the woods with some good folks...

DAMN! What a way to start things off as the new WS&S Mod! I really need to get outdoorsy again. . .

I'd love to do that. I don't think there's any place around here you can travel that far in a canoe and not wind up on private property.
