Hi all,
Ive made a handful of this design. I have been calling it my backpacker model. It is basically a small fixed blade with a decent amount of belly. The balance is securely in your palm due to the full tang construction. I have had this one laying around a few years now. I finally put enough time in to make it serviceable.
Full Disclosure: the handle material is "Thunderstorm Kevlar" it has brass wire in the mix. I stopped using this material once I got feedback that the brass wires sometimes work their way out after lots of use. You can get a little bit of a poke from these wires. If one works its way out you can pull it off with needle nose pliers. I suspect this has a lot to do with the handle material getting wet often and especially staying wet i.e. in bottom of kitchen sink. I dont know that for sure though.
Model: Backpacker Model
Steel: 1095 @ RC 62 (by Peters Heat Treat)
Handle: thunderstorm kevlar with g10 orange liners and g10 pins/cf tube
3" of sharpened edge, 3/32" stock thickness
Blade finish: rough belt finish w/ visible belt marks. This is a roughly finished user.
Blade Grind: flat grind with a convexed distal taper. You can see it has somewhat of a fine tip.
I am asking $140 shipped CONUS.
