Where in W. Australia are you. I spent some time in Exmouth, Broome, and Perth. Lots of outback and flies in your part of the wORLD!great pics mate! love the karate moves!
Been to Melbourne a few times and I always love the energy of the place and how all the people there are always outside running and getting themselves in shape, even with their busy city life. I think I will be there in December.Great pics, and nice camera! I'm still trying to convince my friend to get out with his new 5DmkII for camping, lads weekend away type deal. I'll have to make do with my 50D![]()
What do you mean? That Brian dude looks like he'd be hilarious to hang out with. Great pictures as usual, bear. Thanks for sharing them.
Sweet pics. So do you have a list of your crap...I mean gear?
Wouldn't want you to die using my gear!
Always looking to lighten the load.
Actually, the bivy goes over them blocking any possible FUNK (and not the James Brown kind)! Now, I always like your ultralight way of camping, but your pillow system does stink![]()
These guys are one thing...FUN! I always feel like the parent in the woods with them. They are office type guys bursting with this feeling of adventure. They got some good gear and I made them get heavy duty gear because I know they don't care about their gear and often drop their packs on rocks to go do something really stupid. They don't have much as far as skills, not that I am some woods wizard or anything, but when they get out it is all about fun and adventure. I would rather be out with them than most people I have met in the world. I would really like to get together with some of the forum guys here for more trips too. Been lucky enough to do a few trips with them but I am gone out of the country way too much.Great stuff buddy, looks like ya have a great bunch of friends there !
Hardcore woodsman if I ever saw one.bearthedog said:The caption should read, "does this hat make me look gay?"

Camp and Gear
I sometimes think camp pictures are a little boring but I have been getting a whole lot of email, and PMs about my Super Ultralight Gear. Most of the time this causes a pissing contest about my light gear and how it wont work, and how it will fail me, and how it could never survive a fall off a cliff or a 10 story building, and how it wont repel bullets or vampires, and how I suck---so I almost never post my camp pictures. I finally broke down and posted my camp gear. After all these years, I am still waiting for this crap I use to fail me!

that's pretty good
good pics too!
I've got a MLD Superlite bivy as well, mine has noseeum mesh sewn in to keep the biters at bay- I use mine in conjunction w/ a poncho/tarp, but if the chance of rain is low I find myself sleeping under the stars too

I see you have the fancy version of the Bivy. Cool, can you post any pics of it? I usually use it with a poncho tarp as well. When it is clear and there isn't a cloud in the sky, I use just the bivy too.
Bye the way, you have crap for gear!
