Backsprings on Case Folding Hunters

I'm seriously considering getting a large two-bladed Case folding hunter. Questions of steel aside, how are the back springs on these (compared to say, a sodbuster)?

Best regards.

If I understand your question right, you are asking about the durability of the back-springs.. My answer would be that they are very strong indeed. I had a well used two blade Case folding hunter from the 1940's-50's that still slams down hard and fast like a bear trap with no wobble that I sold to my brother a while back. He uses it all the time and loves it.

I've a 64-69 USA that still snaps like a trap, even though the blades are about shot. :) Got it for $10, planning on stripping it down to just the skinner. :)

Thanks to both of you! I'm going ahead with my order based on your comments.

Best regards.

Since you've decided, my comment may be superfluous,
but the backsprings on my couple of Case folding hunters are also super strong
with great snap.

Hi rifon2:

I appreciate the extra info, just helps me get this one more quickly.

Best regards.
