Backtracking

Read an interesting article in a magazine about backtracking. Instead of following wildlife tracks forward, follow them backwards to learn their habits. where they sleep, eat, drink...
 
Went out shed hunting today. followed them in both directions.

Found a couple bedding areas and some leftover scrapes and rubs now that most of the snow is gone. No sheds but still better than being at work.

I'm very familiar with the area so i know where the deer move and at what time but I followed some tracks through some thick brush. Kicked up a couple bunnies too.

I found a shed today. It would have been quite impressive , except the rodents have chewed it up.
