Bill did all the hard work. He supplied this sweet blade.

ALDO'S 1095 STEEL
13" OAL 8 3/4" BLADE
SABER GRIND WITH TOP SWEDGE

I'm doing a white paper micarta handle with an orange G10 stripe over .030" orange G10 and 1/8" natural canvas micarta. The 1/4" pins will be natural canvas. The 1/8" pin at the top will also be natural canvas with the rear 1/8" pin being a mosaic rod.

I bring my scales up towards the plunge as much as possible eliminating the majority of the ricasso. Towards the top of my handles, I angle the handle at the ricasso away from the blade to the handle at 17 degrees. As it reaches the front finger groove, I radius the handles at the ricasso at 90 degrees.

It should work well on Bill's blade. Everything looks kind of crappy right now, however you can get the idea.

Yeah, it was a pain to glue up.

Don't look now, but yer clamps are showing several actual miles!

All the new has done wore plumb off.

Subscribed as well, whats better than an orange and white handle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had big plans today, like getting the scales totally epoxied on the blade. Life got in the way and I ended up buried with other tasks. I did get the ricasso area of the handle finished up, so next I just need to trim off a little excess and get them on. Problem is, my ADD kicked in and I etched the blade. Bill didn't say I could, but then again he didn't say I couldn't. Since the etch has about 45 more minutes, the scales epoxied on will have to wait till tomorrow.

Awesome collab fellas & the concept looks killer. Can't wait for the finished product! Hope to see ya around more Michael...

I've been doing some work for a friend trying to make some extra cash before the move. It's really eating away at my knife time. Anyway, I was able to get the scales epoxied onto the knife tonight. I should be able to get them contoured, shaped and finished tomorrow. Bill's going to have to touch up the grind after my etching, but that shouldn't take him but minute. I like the way it's turning out.
