Backwoods Wetland DIY - WIP thread

ok...it was a tough choice, but i had to take this one back to the shop. i liked the look, but it was not practical. it was just too thick for my hand.

gave it a slimmer profile. fits much better. i can see how a guy can drive himself crazy trying to make it symmetrical. mine is close, but definitely not perfect.

Perfection is overrated brother...Question is does it perform and you know since the blade came from Bill that's a no brainer :D It looks good you did well my friend and I'll bet ya had some fun doin it too...enjoy makes me wanna get to work on one :thumbup:

I would highly recommend it. just be careful...it's like a time warp. ;)

thanks myke. and yeah...as i said, i'm a bit biased, but really digging the mahogany and black setup.
 
Looks awesome man. I have alot of mahogany if you need any more. Its straight grained but sparkles like crazy.

ooooh. thanks chris. i might take you up on that. i don't have any projects in the works right now, but it would be good to just have. love that mahogany you gave me before. i'll email you. thanks man.
 
Looks good to me and you are most likely to only one to see perfections. I drive myself nuts trying to be perfect on each blade I handle up. I contoured a handle on a big bowie a few weeks ago. Not quite perfect to my eye but the guy was ecstatic when he got it.

"perfection is overrated"...I'll have to remember that on the next one I do. L0L

thanks deadeyed. i got to a point where i had to say, "good enough." i was running out of wood! :D
 
Running out of wood....I hear that. Like cutting hair, you can take more off but you can't put it back on!!
