HERE WE GO AGAIN,I WANTED THIS KNIFE TO BE VERY LIGHT WEIGHT ,VERSITILE ,COMFY,IT ALL THAT AND MORE,THIS WAS A LITTLE OUT OF MY ORDINARY BUT WHAT CAN I SAY,SOMETIMES DIFFRENT IS GOOD, THE KNIFE HAS A THUMB DENTATION ON THE TOP FOR EASY COMFORTABLE CONTROL,JUST PAST THAT IT HAS A FLATTENED SPINE FOR PRECISE CUTTING USING YOUR INDEX FINGER TO REST UPON OR EVEN BATONING IF NEEDED,THEN STRAIGHT INTO A SPEAR POINT FOR PEIRCING ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE INCLUDING FLESH!! "RIVER WARRIOR" MARC HAD ALOT TO DO WITH THIS,SO PRAISE TO HIM!! AND HE IS A HELLOVA CAMERA GUY, THE KNIFE ONLY WEIGHS IN AT A WHOPPING 2 OZ , AT THIS POINT, MEASURES 6 3/4" W/ 2 3/4" BLADE, ALDO'S 1095 STEEL

FIRST A CHICKEN SCRATCH PATTERN??

Challenge knife w.i.p. Pics are up,the scales will be here tuesday then time for a sheath!

Looks awesome. Enjoyed watching the process, very cool.

Thanks guys, i hope me and chris finnish up in the rankings , but i guess only time will tell

I'm really glad the pictures turned out well. I thought I was gonna have to request "hazardous duty" pay with all the fire, smoke, and sparks flyin' around the shop :D Hopefully the scales will arrive on Tuesday.

I've always had the view of a necker as a tool that may just save your butt if you end up, for whatever reason, losing the rest of your gear/equipment. With that in mind, I always liked the idea of a comfy thumb rest in case one has to do chores/tasks with the blade for an extended time. Also, as Bill has mentioned, the squared spine section can be used to place the index finger for more controlled/precision use of the blade, or even to baton smaller pieces of wood if needed.

I can hear the orders for the Backwoods and KFU neckers coming in now. LOL. Great work Bill,
it may be outside your "norm" but it's looking good to me. What are the scales made of, don't think
I've seen that material before. Great job on the pics Riverwarrior.
