Backyard Bushcraft

Thanks. The sharp top of the next gen has done a number on the limbs I use to baton with.

I'll have to subscribe to the throne room thread!

The King is King for a reason. Plus it is fun as hell to use. The Machax is a close second, from the "fun as hell to use" perspective. But the 9 is a little less "specific fun" and a little more "general mayhem" fun. The 9 was my first Becker, and still (one of) my favorite(s, because you'll probably buy another....they're kind of....addictive).

Yeah, that's a great point, I guess if I'm going to be working in the yard, I might as well maximize the fun factor!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I decided to pull the trigger on a BK9. Pics will be up post haste upon its arrival.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how it feels in your hand. It's pretty light and nimble, definitely well balanced considering it's length. Congratulations and welcome to the kings court, all hail the KING!

The first time I got a BK-9 in hand I was shocked at how well a knife that big balanced that well. I bet you'll feel the same within a couple of hours of finding that laden mailbox. For the record, I use either the BK-9 or the Machax for yard duty. Don't forget to be safe and have too much fun.
