bad blood knives, worthy or a waste of time?

I owned (but sold) the Harbinger, Fire Splitter and Spiraling Demise. All very solid knives and (I think) excellent quality for the price. And just fun. But very very heavy -- and so didn't fit my carry profile. Though I still might re-acquire the Spiraling Demise.

My take on the brand is that it represents pretty good design with pretty good chinese manufacture. The quality overall is similar to the chinese made models from the larger manufacturers. Returns are rare so customers appear to be happy with them.

I wouldn't let the name move me away from buying a knife, but I would if it had little skulls, zombies, etc., on it.

Isn't that a skull next to the Bad Blood ?
Looks like one with an open jaw to me, but the screen I'm on isn't very large, so I'm not positive.

Have any of you who have these tried taking them apart? I ask because one youtube reviewer couldn't get the pivot screw out and said it felt like it was "glued" in place. This reminds me of Ganzo knives. I swear they actually epoxy their screws in. I bought one and couldn't get any of the screws out, no matter what I tried. That ended my desire for any more Ganzo knives. I'm hoping these aren't assembled the same way.

Midnight flyer- You said it has a bearing on the lock bar? Could that possibly be the detent ball?

Well, that is certainly possible. But it is so far back on the lockbar I couldn't be sure without taking the knife apart. And the ball is tiny. I personally wouldn't think it would hold much of anything, and it stays in contact with the tang all the way until the last moment until the lockbar engagages. However, I am ready and glad to be corrected if someone wants to dismantle one to look.

I don't know. I got it out and put my glasses on and still can't figure out what it is supposed to be. It looks like a head wearing ski googles and a hat with a "K" on it (presumably for Kendrick) and a mustache and a beard. Maybe Kendrick has a trademark mustache and beard? Possibly the head has a scarf over the bottom part of his face? I really can't tell, but it must be some kind of logo as I did see the little TM mark by it.

I hit the contrast pretty hard when tuning up the pics before posting so the G10 would be easy to see. That made the logo much clearer, and in the light the logo is actually a very soft gray that makes the details too faint for me to worry about. I didn't even see the TM mark next to the writing until I put on my glasses and put it under a light.

I have the one forgot the name but its the mosier collaboration persian one. The pivot is not epoxyed in. It came shaving sharp. It also came with up and down blade play(the lock doesnt fail I spine wacked it on a 2x4). If i eventually loc tite there is no blade play but its pretty far off center(can be centered with pivot but has play if I do) no rub though. Its big and heavy. Blade shape is pretty badass though. Is it worth it thats up to you. To me probably not.

I think folks take the whole naming business too seriously. I wouldn't let the name move me away from buying a knife, but I would if it had little skulls, zombies, etc., on it.

Anyway, got the Harbinger today....
Nice review midnight flier, I'm right there with you on this knife. Names - I don't care about them, what I care is the design and functionality.
This is the post that brought my attention to it, along with the shape of the blade - reminds me the BM H&K models... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...Blood-knives-Opinions?p=11460810#post11460810
I also find Sean Kendrick's line of work nice, it was interesting to get one of the budget models to see how I'd feel it.

I got mine for the same price from a "wholesaler" just around Christmas last year and my observation about the knife are almost identical to yours.
I like it, I think it worth the money even for a knife made in China and for the steel they use for the blade.
It did see some pocket time and use, it's holding fine so far, it looks like well built knife.

I have to say, I have quit qualifying a knife one way or another using the country of origin. To me a knife is either a good knife for a purpose, it it isn't. I have lately had a few German made purchases that were not very good examples of cutlery, and after some biting disappointments in domestic makers I won't buy sight unseen. I probably miss a lot of great knives, but then again I don't have that bad feeling of getting cheated when I buy a knife and don't feel I got what I paid for.

To me this is a great example of good materials, execution and design and I know it will prove to be a useful tool on the job site. I may not be the tool, but it will certainly serve a purpose. Even the steel is OK; holds an edge pretty well but is easy easy easy to sharpen.

And with a truck full of tools made in Germany, China, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, etc., I don't really notice the COO much anymore.

Thanks. The Mosier Persian is one of the ones that really appeals to me. Sounds like QC is a bit of a crapshoot. I've watched several more reviews, and some have issues while others are perfect.
