Suggestions/advice??? I ordered a knife from a well know makers/small manufacture; sending the required deposit. They called after the long wait period (back-log) and said the knife was ready, they took my credit card information and said the knife would be shipped immediately. I have not received the knife, which was supposedly shipped 10-13-99. I have called the company, written them, called the local chamber of commerce and the BBB. From the company all I get is a recording and I leave a message each time (I call almost every day) and I have yet to speak to a living soul or hear back from them. Should I just consider my hard earned money lost and this a very expensive lesson in life, or does any one have some suggestions?

Let's hear the details on the other thread. We may be able to help.

Fortunately, you paid with a credit card. Just call your card company up and dispute the charge. That'll get the this well-know firm's attention quickly. Merchants take these matters seriously for several reasons:

1) They don't get paid until the matter is resolved.

2) If this happens very often, the credit card company will withdraw their privileges.

3) The agreement they signed with the card company gives the card company broad authority in this situation, and the card companies are known to favor the consumers in questionable cases.

1) Tell us the name of the company? Negative word of mouth is a powerful persuasive tool.

2) Have your credit card company reverse the charges. They will do it. That's the advantage of using a credit card. Reversing the charges.

3) Tell us the name of the "company" so that we do not get screwed like you did! Protect the rest of us with your experience.
