Bad day...

Thank you all. Today is a bit better.

jimmyjones, I don't think it would a thread hijack at all if you posted a pic of your Dal Lizzy. In fact, I spent sometime last night just looking through old pictures for ones of my girl and then spent a little more time looking at some Dalmatian websites. It helped a bit in remembering the good times.

Thanks again.

Here's the Leaping Lizard just before her 13th birthday.

I still think about her everyday.

Today extremely sucked. I had to put *my* first dog down (I've had other dogs but she was the first dog that I chose and received as my dog). I'm trying to remember her as she was a few years ago - when she wasn't in pain - but for the time, it just doesn't lessen my loss...

Here's a pic of her from a few years ago - she was 14 years old in September:

"Sam Sam" or "Samantha"
[1993-2009]

I too mourn for SamSam, she always knew me when I came by to visit, even if I had not petted her in months, she will be missed, she was "Family"
Dad

So sorry to hear aboput Sam Sam... these times are never easy.

I hope you find your way thru the pain and sorrow...
remember the good times and she'll always be with you.

Awww, man...I'm so sorry to hear that. I would be devastated...seriously...especially since my boy Gordy was my partner when I was going through chemo for Hodgkins. I hope you're able to take a deep breath, man. My condolences.

So sorry to hear about Sam Sam. She looks like a sweetie. Tough, but right decision.

God bless

Yeah what a downer man...I just had to put my 15+? year old labrador Blaze down a week ago. He had cancer and could no longer support himself with his back legs. I had to hold his hips up at the end so he could have a last walk in the grass in the sun like he so wanted, I couldn't help but cry then (my eyes are misting just thinking about it). I gave him a good last meal of pork and turkey which he seemed to enjoy alot more than his dog food. It really is hard but they are hopefully in a better place. My guy had lost so much weight even though we were giving him special high protein food for a long time. The weather was getting nasty and he hated being brought inside even overnight. I had to go out of town for the weekend and I couldn't bear him dragging himself through the yard in the rain so it really was time. I am sorry for your loss I know what you are going through. Keep your head up. I know it would be a heck of a lot harder if I didn't have my lil rat terrier Oreo. He really is my best buddy.

The "right thing" is rarely the easy thing, and where our K-nine-Kids are concerned, it's always awful....I can't offer more than my condolences and a prayer, and they feel somewhat inadequate, but there they are.

One more perfect soul gone home after an all too short visit.

I know there's nothing I or anyone else can say that would ease the pain, but you do have my deepest condolences concerning your loss. Our pets,as they are part of the family, can be way more important than people!!!!!

Quit a first post,

must have gotten something in my eye, cause I had a hard time reading through it.

Welcome to the forum.

My condolences for Blaze.

I think we have all been through that, never an easy thing to do :thumbdn: Time heals all wounds though, it will get better

My condolences on your loss. My family had to put down a pet a few years ago and it wasn't easy. I wish you and your family well at this time.

Dan

Sorry for your loss man. Pets are special and really do become part of the family. Great looking pooch BTW. :)

i've got 5 real friends.

both my parents,my son,my brother and my dog.

i'm already dreading his end and he's only 2 but i heard that boxers only live till like 10 so he's 20% of the way there.

i new puppy might help take your loss off your mind, maybe distract you and help fill that void.

My condolences as well Butch!!! Been there several times, dogs and cats. It never is easy. Remember she chose to be with you, and she will always be in your heart.

sorry for your loss, you have my condolences. It's very hard to say good bye to one of our true best friends. RIP Samantha
