BAD!!! Do NOT deal with "Keypper" Unreal Story.

Should this seller be banned from all other future sales and purchases on B.F.?

Hello,
I have been a member of Blade Forum for well over 7 years now and have NEVER met an individual with such a complete and utter disregard for the forum rules and all in all a person that simply cares nothing about other people.
I purchased a large Carbon Fiber CRK from the following post:
https://bladeforums.com/threads/small-seb-21-large-seb-21-cf.1514994/
I posted that I sent him a "PM" and he replied via email that the knife was still available and we worked out a deal for it and at 8:13 pm payment was sent via Pay Pal for the knife.
Then, at 8:24 pm I updated my initial post saying that "Payment was sent".
Only to then to receive an email from Pay Pal at 10:12 pm stating that I was issued a full refund.
I was totally confused and less than 5 minutes later received an email from the seller, "Keypper" or Kevin Yu stating that he had changed his mind and ended up "trading" the knife and said that he was backing out of our deal.
As I mentioned, I have been on B.F. for approximately 7 years and have had well over 150 positive transactions and have NEVER had anything like this ever happen to me. I explained to the seller that this was totally against Blade Forum Rules and that he needed to refresh himself with the rules, to which he replied, "Sorry, I didn't know the rules".
What makes the sellers story even more false is the fact that even in his post he specifically wrote "No Trades". Plus, I posted that the knife was paid for far before he posted that the knife was traded.
It is sellers like this that give the rest of us a bad name and IMO have absolutely no place on Blade Forum. I pride myself with having a spotless selling and buying record and feedback, and this seller has merely a feedback rating of 3, and based on his actions, should be banned from all future selling, or buying on Blade Forum.
Our community is all based on trust. Trust that each member will act respectively of others, that we all share a common hobby, and have created a safe and honest environment where we should never be scared or hesitant to purchase any item, posted by any fellow member.
Not only did the seller completely waste my time, but then lied about trading his knife as you can clearly see in his for sale post that he did not want any trades of any kind.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to many more great years spent here on Blade Forum.
Best regards,
Ryan Smoliak aka Brendtech189

He messed up, a GB&U thread is definitely justified, and I appreciate the warning.

That said, my advice is to lock this thread for a bit, cool down some and maybe edit it to be a bit less over the top.

I'm sympathetic to your anger, but the guy probably doesn't deserve a ban unless this is repeat behavior.

Anyway, sorry you had to deal with that, and I'm happy you aren't out money.

It's a dick move, sure. Not cool at all, thanks for the warning.

That being said, not much you can do, it's his knife and he can do what he wants with it including backing out of your deal for a better deal. By the way, I just did a super quick once-over on the exchange rules, and I didn't see anything saying you can't cancel a transaction. The closest I could find is that dishonesty is frowned upon; not exactly a rule, more like a perspective.

Sort of but not really related, the Exchange rules mention no knockoffs or homages allowed, but I've seen plenty of Ganzos listed in my short time here.

Self centered people lack integrity, and change their minds as often as the wind changes direction. I avoid business with this type of person, unless the potential profit is worth the trouble. I don't think that his offense is serious or uncommon enough to warrant being banished. Hopefully he will read about this, and consider becoming a better business person. It's so hard to judge others harshly for one small offense, when most of are also guilty of doing something ignorant, at one time or another.

As far as the statement that was made in reference I quote him as follows "Currently not looking for any trades, but you can try me" it does not say No trades. In reference to him accepting your money and then changing his mind That is definitely bad etiquette and if it was an auction It most probably cause problems. I belong to another buying and selling venue and I was selling something. The winner sent me questions after the fact I answered. He then Apologized and pulled out. I called to complain and was told even if it is bad taste to do it it not, technically it is not an infraction. His move cost me $100. In your case it is not technically an infraction but it is in bad taste and deserves this GBU thread and even a temporary suspension if it was actually against the rules. People that have done much worse on this forum have gotten away with a temporary suspension. As far as being a very safe place to trade, there is no vetting process in order to become a member. Pay your dues and your in. I have had a few uncomfortable experiences also. If I was in your shoes I would at least be happy he didn't try to keep your money which is a pain in the ass.

Sellers can change their minds. He may have been a jerk about it but all he did was change his mind and trade the knife. Just because he said no TRADES does not bind him to NOT trading the knife. Sellers have the right to NOT sell or sell to anyone they choose for any reason.

I would agree this was not great seller behavior, and you have a right to be irritated, but I think your reaction is a bit over the top. But, knowing what happened, I would also choose not to do business with the seller, so thanks for alerting us.
I agree with this. A bit of an overreaction but the seller is going on ignore nonetheless.

Certainly not good, but not as bad as you are taking it. Most would follow through on a deal once it is made regardless of second guessing, changing their mind or getting a better offer. He however isn't the 1st nor will he be the last to pull out of a deal after agreeing to it. Put him on your ignore list and move on, but thanks for letting us know. It was worthy of a GB&U thread.
Banning I leave up to those in charge
notified him of this thread-always good to get both sides. His reaction may tell us a lot about him

I'm going to close this thread but before I do I would like to say the following.

Normally I would be somewhat sympathetic to the OP in a situation like this, a seller or buyer backing out of a deal is never good for whatever reason... but creating a poll as to whether a member should be banned or not over this is ridiculous.

Also I would like to add, there is more than one inaccuracy in the OP's thread, mods do have the ability to see edited threads and the times those threads were edited, just something to consider before stating your version of what happened.

Thank you everyone for your input as it is greatly appreciated. I must admit that initially, I did over react a bit.
However, I've been a member here on B.F. for closing in on (7) years and have done hundreds of transactions and this has never happened to me before.
Live and learn is what I will take from it, and if a seller has a feedback rating of less than (10) I would be careful.
Much appreciated, now let's get back to finding some great knives!
