BAD economy, lesse INFI

I keep looking on the exchange and I don't see stuff being sold at very low prices. I do see guys saying that they are selling at under their cost but most often that looks like they might have overpaid on the exchange.

When I see a knife being sold for 20% less than it had cost to buy from Busse then I'd say that Busse knives have followed the economy down, and that has not happened yet.

.

Well I'm gonna sell something at 20% below cost just to prove you wrong. :D

(Even then, I don't think it'd sell. People just any gots no cashola)

Its not only infi.I have been seeing some great deals on the gun forums just sitting there.

I agree! I'm on the buyers side at the moment and there's really nothing below original cost out there that I'm seeing. People are moaning that they can't sell their infi for more than they paid for it new, well guess what, infi wasn't made to be bought for profit, it was made to be used and appreciated.

Even BAD's are selling for at or above current store prices, I don't see anybody losing money.

Now go chop something up and enjoy your knife!

I got something up for 10% under the original price and it's still there. People just don't have the free cash at the moment. The market will eventually swing back up, things will normalize, and prices will go back up. Definitely a buyers market right now if you got the scratch. I don't think you're going to see old knives at or under the original prices, but they are definitely lower on the secondary than they have been in the past.

+1

I used to look at the exchange daily hoping to score a "reasonable" deal on a "Reasonably" priced piece or two that I wanted to add to my collection. I got tired of weeding through WAY jacked prices that I am not willing to pay. So, I quit even bothering to check.

With all this talk about low prices, I checked again and still see WAY jacked prices. Whatever. You guys with jacked prices can keep it. :thumbdn:

I can actually appreciate a 10% - 15% increase in price (over released price) to cover shipping multiple times and not take losses. But, I mostly see 50%, 75% and 100% jackups with a BUNCH of 200%-300% jackups.

I don't care if someone else paid 300% more on the exchange and now considers the rediculous price they paid to be "cost".

If you purchased wrong and paid "TOO MUCH", sorry. That is your loss for wanting something more than it is worth. If you want something bad enough to pay jacked up prices, you deal with the overage. Good luck selling to the next sucker. It won't be me. I am not buying for investment. I buy because I want. But, I also know there are more coming and other knives at better values than "Jacked" prices.

To me, "Cost" is release price + factory shipping. (and factory shipping is a little high  )

Good luck to those of you who like "Jacking" around. I guess it is a Hog thing.

I dunno, I usually just try and recoup what I've got in a knife......started when I got a 3F for $225 and sold it for the same.....apparently it's worth more. I dunno. If I sell something, it's either because I don't like it, don't need it, or I need to fund something else (I COLLECT, just not on a large scale....I don't really want more than a certain amount invested in my knife collection so I sell to buy beyond a certain point.)

I REALLY haven't had much trouble selling newer knives for what I bought them for....it's just the older ones that I bought at a premium that are suffering. Many people are interested and would LIKE to buy them...I've gotten TONS of offers on my 1/300 that's up. But NO ONE has the available cash for the deal. The demand is still there, just not the means. Business is slow for many I figure. I wouldn't understand because I've always worked for salary for the most part and I'm federal now so there's been no layoffs or any squeeze.

As soon as I get squared away I'll probably be back looking for INFI :p my car got totalled when I was drunk......BUT I wasn't in it....I was actually about 10 miles away in a cab. I found out when I got a call from the cops in the middle of the night saying that my car was demolished and they found my information in the glove compartment :D THAT was a crappy night. On top of that the insurance company screwed me on the value of my car and I replaced it with the same after a long hunt....though it was hard to find my model and color as it's rare. I could only find one used at a dealer for a MURDEROUS price.

I emptied my savings and charged up my credit card getting in a new car so some knives have to go to pay off my card. You can count on me jumping on some knives in another month or two if they're selling below 20%!!!

i have gotten some good deals on the exchange, that i thought were good, i guess some hogs may be profiting but thats OK. I have dealt with some great hogs on the exchange and I have learned the ropes when it comes to the GANZAAs and such. I have fun on here and its worth it. Thanks to all you HOGS who make this place the place it is.
