Bad experiance with Khotang Khukuri Handicraft and its owner Barun Baraili and Lead Designer Daniel Murray Lake.

I ordered a Khukuri for $260 from this company on January 11th.

While waiting for months to get my Khukuri, I got PM's on Facebook. Barun Baraili asked if I wanted to buy Khukuri's.
I answered that I wanted my order instead of buying extra. I also asked when I would get my Khukuri.
Barun replied that my Khukuri would ship within a month.

After a month had past I asked again when I could expect my order.
Then he said it was almost finished and that he would ship it next week. Well, that again did not happen.
I asked him again and he said he would ship it that Monday, because there were elections in Nepal.
Again nothing, so I asked for a refund. He would not give it but kept on saying the Khukuri was almost ready and would come my way.

I finally decided to file a claim with PayPal.

I also notified his Australian business partner Daniel Murray Lake.
He takes payments for the orders and does a big part of the communication.
Daniel took more than a month to reply when I said I filed a claim with PayPal.

While all this was going on, I saw more and more posts on Facebook of people asking about their orders.
People were also complaining about the quality of the Khukuri's they did receive. A lot of these messages were removed quickly.

This morning Daniel offered (after a month of silence) to sent the Khukuri and a gift to me because it took so long.
I don't want anything to do with this company anymore.
I don't trust their quality, especially now when they are trying to ship them out as fast out as they can to long waiting customers.
Assuming they are shipping them out?

Hopefully I will get my money back from PayPal.
I also hope my post will prevent others from getting the same bad experience.
 
Assuming that you paid with G&S (and filed a claim in the allotted time frame) they should have made a decision in 6 days I believe. How long ago did you file a claim with paypal?

If you paid by F&F then you are out of luck

Luckily I paid with G&S and I filed the claim within the allowed time frame.
The claim was posted 5 weeks ago.
 
It's the first time I have to deal with this, so I don't know what the normal period is?
Normally, it does not take much longer than a week.
It might take a bit longer if there are some unique cases. In the few times I have had to use claim services it seemed to be pretty fast.

Glad you finally got your money back.
