I posted this review on a couple of review sites so that no one will fall into the same trap as I did.
I still have heard nothing and it seems like they don't care about unhappy customers.

"I emailed Knife Centre about putting together an order for some knives to be shipped to Australia, which they put together. After the credit card details had been taken, they emailed a generic letter saying that they would not ship to Australia! (WE SHIP AROUND THE WORD! Is written on their website). I wrote a letter to them explaining that " before taking someone's credit card details it is polite to write on your website and tell them that you will not ship to them". After a few emails back and forth, (most of which were a prewritten email) I found Knife Center to be rude, unhelpful and void of any responsibility. Not wanting to help or deal with the customer, but happy to take my money :) I found another knife shop on eBay who were cheaper for the same product and totally easy to deal with. I received my knives within the week and couldn't have been more happy. Do not use Knife Centre! "

I also bought from them. As you say, uninformative unpersonal, deeply unsatisfying experience. High cost and draconian conditions to ship overseas(although they did ship to me in Europe). The items took quite a while to arrive and for the big order there was no detail.

I sice have bougt many times from ebay dealers or here on the forum and have always been more impressed and charmed by care on the packaging, details sellers have, etc. Buying a knife can most of the time be considered as buying a jewel, I'd like to be treated properly as it is not a necessity buy.

ive used them many times, but i'm in the us of a. i did sent an English buddy a fixed blade knife from them to England. had no problems. worked well, they were nice to me via email. answered all my questions, etc.

Austrailia has banned all one handed folders basically. did you order illegal knives in your country from them? did they refund your card? if so i see no issue here, other than not updating their website to say no knives to countries who won't allow them.

all that said i get your frustration.....

Sorry they don't/can't ship to your country. I think that may be the fault of your country, not KC, but I really don't know.

Knife Center is one of my favorite's.

have dealt with knifecenter many times over the years one of the most reliable and honest dealers on the net

Its turned into quite a pain in the rear and expensive to ship overseas.I have stopped completely unless its Express USPS which is still a huge pain with lots of paperwork and time involved. You should examine the whole story including their side before badmouthing a well liked and trusted dealer IMO.

Were you conned out of money?...........No

Were you scammed on shipping or insurance charges.........No

Were you overcharged or ripped off in any way................No

No money was removed from your credit card. You were told up front clearly that they would not ship to Australia. So what do you really have to complain about?

By all accounts Knife Center is a first rate dealer. Stop complaining about nothing and move on.

Not really in defense of KC but it while it does say they "ship around the world" that doesn't mean they ship to every single country in the world and right below they also state, "We ship most of our products to most countries in the world".

I suspect that you placed your order electronically and received an automatic response which probably can't happen until the order is placed otherwise how would they know where you were?

I've used Knife Center and had no problems. I've also shipped internationally (including Australia) and had no issues. S**t happens, what else can be said.

knife users and knife dealers in Australia need to band together politically to fix a terrible import problem - OR - start better domestic knife production... but perhaps even domestic carry/possession laws are as draconian as the government's import laws?

A buddy is having poor experience presently - to avoid using USPS he selected kc as they ship FedEx an FedEx does customs clearance in my country. Kc shipped the order via USPS citing FedEx does not service your area. He never expected this to happen and his knives are sitting in out customs for the last 10 days with no movement. :-/

They shipped me an endura instead of a delica and I had to live with it since it was brought by a buddy to India (got it shipped in the US).

Human errors occur and nobody is perfect, but I do not expect this to happen from a supposedly professional and old company. Nevertheless, I recommend them to fellow Indians here as their FedEx shipments are reasonably priced, however make sure to mention ALL your constraints and requirements while placing an order.

My business has moved to cutlery shoppe and howes since then, and I had not had a single unsatisfactory transaction with them.

I canceled my preorder with Knife center. Every couple of weeks they send a pre generated response saying the knife is on in yet.... yada yada. Thats not that much of an
issue but they do make you feel like your dealing with a Wal Mart type of store. What bugs me is they knowingly take more preorders than they can fill. Like the Spyderco orange Dodo.
All the other shops stopped taking preorders once their limit was reached. You can still preorder them from KC.

Just imagine how bad it would have been if they had shipped the knives and they were confiscated. That would have been much worse.

Seems like they have treated others nice and provided good service.

What I was mad about was it was my Boss whos money they took not mine. Very embarrassing for me. Any ways that was ages ago. Forgiven but not forgotten people are people.

Knife Center rocks!! Sounds like you re just being a sour puss because your country won t allow you to get what you want!! No reason to talk badly about an awesome company and try to make them look bad! I deal with them all the time and they are one of the best online dealers!!!!!

20+ knifecenter orders and they mixed up ONCE. After a quick email they got the rest of my order out the next day.

Awesome service on their behalf.
