Bad knife availability news from our friend Stephen at SK Blades.

If what is said is true... the trickle down would be a huge impact on Buck's business, there has to be more to the story.
I can think of SFO's (exclusives) at the following, now or in the past.
SK Blades
Copper & Clad / Shepherd Hills
Bass Pro / Cabelas
Smoky Mountain
Walmart
AG Russell
Dicks
***BCCI***
I know there are more...

As a Buck collector, I am disappointed there will be fewer unique knives to seek out.

With GEC not doing any SFO's it's unfortunate timing for Buck. I figured they would be a shoe in for the 300-500 BF forum knife.

Looks like the Smoke Jumper is back in stock.

*edit
Couldn’t resist, had to grab on for myself. :)
Thanks for the heads up, I went back and grabbed one. I had already received notice the others have shipped so I’ll have two mail calls. Lol I’ve been wanting to get a smoke jumper ever since they first came out.

With these last 3 knives that I bought from SKBlades that makes 8 total knives I’ve bought from Stephen and everyone of them were perfect. Not to mention the 2 2018 Buck forum 301 knives I got indirectly that came through SK and they are superb. These are some really special builds that he worked on as well as some others that no other dealer had and I will surely miss having a source for them. Premium steel blades and materials, special grinds, configurations and colors. He knows what I and many others like. I sure do hope something works out so he can come back soon. Thanks Stephen !

If you haven't grabbed one of these now is the time. Once gone, may be gone forever. On sale at the moment.

One of the finest camp knives out there. A big thumbs up on this project.

I am looking at that one Makael Makael and the Inferno but I also have to watch my spending so no trigger pulled yet for me I lean a bit more toward the Inferno as even if it ain't a hit with me I think I have some family who would appreciate it.

I would hope that @skblades does weather this storm and can resume doing what he has been doing for this community to me only him and BCCI have the SFO's that are worth getting. To me all the others are just too plain being usually nothing more than a change in the scale/handle material SK would get us steel choices and great ones. I don't know a lot about the BCCI knives but there is the fact they are club knives that adds a little something more too.

Maybe worst comes to worst SK can fill the void at Buck and make sure we keep getting great options even if he isn't running his own site.

I'd hate to see them go out of business. I think I've purchased five of their knives over the years. Really great people to deal with, and they've had really cool offerings.

Yea, was going to post the same thing but didn't have time. One of my new favorite places to order from after hearing about them on here. The collection was old, discontinued knives originally. Then I got sidetracked and started buying new ones I really liked, thanks to this site. After a bit of thought on ever growing numbers of knives and watching this forum and the bay. I decided to somewhat stay on track and continue with ones that are low in numbers or special in one way or another. SK was a new found place for me. Got a few of their exclusives. Was always happy to get their emails on what was new. Them Buck knives are almost 90 percent of my collection. This email was a big bummer though. I hope they can stick around and wish all involved the best. Prob gonna annoy the wife by ordering from what is left.

I broke down & ordered a 212 Ranger. Been eyeing it for a long time and figured it may be now or never.

For those on the fence about the Inferno...don’t wait! It’s one of my very favorite knives.

Silver Knights Stephen lives the dream many of us had..Actually working directly with Buck creating and buying thousands of fantastic cool odd Buck knives..The Lil'Jack 112 in D2 is one I truly liked..And still the only D2 112 made. I hope this is not the end for the SK and Buck collaboration.

Stephen certainly has good taste in knives. He picks great options. My personal favorite is the silver fox 110. CPM20CV? Who else would have thought of that?
That one was the best Buck knife that I have ever received and I have owned and own many! As far as fit and finish, it is better than any Custom Shop knife that I have handled.

As far as Stephen, he ain't dead so I am not giving a eulogy for him! But, he runs a good operation and has gone above the call for me.

I caught wind of this last month when I lost my Goodfella and emailed Stephen to see if he would make more some day. I have since found my Goodfella THANK GOD (and didn't have to break out my backup Goodfella ;))

I have to hope SK will be only be on hold for just a little while. Some of my very favorite knives came from SK.
