Not so sure if this's the right forum.
Mod please move it to wherever you see fit, THANK YOU.

I'll try to make a long story short.

I and my family spending most of our weekend trekking and camping in the woods.
Most of my friends do the same.
And when we're in the national park or wildlife sanctuary, we always guided and helped by the ranger.

About two years ago.
One of my friend who works as a trainner for the Forestry Ranger in the north-east showed me this pics.

It's the REAL EDC knife carried and used by our forest ranger.

When I saw those pics I decided I have to do something.
I'll give my knife to him.

But then, I've been told most of them do not have a decent knife.
So, the project began.

I initiated it and called it: Share your knives to our Forest Ranger.

People sent in their knives and we gave it away . . .

Also, we raised funds for the project.
And we made a SPECIAL E-Nep inwhich we called ThaiBlades Forest Ranger

At the end of that year we're able to give away about 35 E-Nep's plus other things.

The project continues.

This year with helped from the local knifemakers/firends, we have a few knives made by them to auction to raise more fund.

Also, we designed a new blade. The one that would fit their needs better.

It must be good for all around chores.
Light for clearing path.
Strong for heavy duty.
Good for preparing meal.
And easy to sharpen in the field.
Plus it must be fast in the hand, in case of emergency using it as a fighter.

A friend " Devilki " designed it, inspired by Tai Goo bush knife and the Rambo knife.
Yet much thinner. And it's now a hidden tang with round hardwood handle.
With traditional convex zero edge.

We sent one to be tested.
And it's been used everyday for 2 weeks in the field without sharpening.

It came out of the woods looks like this:

A coupla swipes on the stone make it almost shaving sharp. (We prefer toothy edge)

They love it.

The new one looks like this . . .

We hope we'd be able to give more this year.

In time of suffering from the bad economy, it's good to learn that they're lot more people in worst shape than us.

And since we love knives, for me there's nothing else we could give better than knife. Knife that people who receives it will use it to the fulll potenntial.

You are indeed a credit to the community.

Hello from your side of the world! Those Thai blades' designs look very familiar!

What an awesome story and gesture! As the saying goes here in my country "May your kind/tribe increase!"
