Bad lockup on the Kershaw Amplitude?

So I received my new kershaw amplitude 3.25 today, and its built very well for the money except for a problem I have with its lockup.
It could just be me, but I'm not very confident towards the frame lock and worry about it being disengaged easily compared to some previous framelocks I've had. It engages perhaps 1/5 of the blade and refuses to go in any further. I can push the lock in more (rather easily too), but once the blade flexes a bit the lock bar springs back out to the 1/5 position. Would you personally be confident with carrying and using a knife with a lock like this, or would you try to get it replaced?

Here's some pictures of the lockup compared to a kershaw zing for reference:

That lockup looks fine. As long as it's not disengaging when you apply pressure to the spine, there's nothing to worry about. It will wear in over time.

Is there any blade play? If not, and the lock works, I wouldn't sweat it. Early lockup is considered to be a good thing by most!

Less engagement is better than too much, as long as it doesn't disengage easily. Just gives more material to break in and a longer life if you happen to be like me, and flip incessantly. [emoji56]

I wouldn't like it either, looks like it's waiting to slip.

Thanks for all the replies so far. To all the people who say that the lock will wear in, would you still keep it if the lockbar looks like it wants to hold the current position? Like I mentioned before, if I manually push the lockbar in more, it pops back out to this position, so it doesn't look like it will actually travel in more as it wears.

For an inexpensive knife I wouldn't worry too much. I have a zt that I can push the lockbar over. Still no lock rock or failure with pressure on the spine so I'm ok with it. I examined my 2 remaining Emersons and they have a slightly detectable amount of lock rock and I'm kind of pissed about it.

I just received one of these today and don't have any issues with the lockup.

Has it worn in a bit for you since?

Thank palonej. Was working for me, but I guess the insert image button is wonky. :P

P.S. I'd play you a game of 9 ball if I still had my cues. :)
