Bad marathon motor??

Got a 1.5hp marathon motor off eBay. Guy said it was new old stock. Just wired up my vfd and the motor just doesn't quite sound right.

Well I took it apart and it was brand new inside. The end caps ride in the bearings. So when they're bolted together it causes the shaft to spin. Well I believe the end caps were not Put in correctly causing an imbalance in the shaft. Put it back together and it worked just fine

Congrats on fixing the problem - sure does sound like the fan hitting end caps. Isn't that a 56C face motor?

That's what I thought too but even after I took the fan blades off it still made the sound. Yeah it is. The internals are brand new
