This model in the CG version had the most different combinations between grinds (and serrations), coatings & handle options ever available in a Busse model, IIRC.

BladeForums Benefit Support Auction SHe-v. This variant was donated by Jerry to Spark to help raise money for the continued operation of BladeForums after a major server crash put this site out of operation for what seemed like the longest 8 days in history back in early to mid 2006. Several makers stepped up to help get this site back up and with new equipment by donating knives, but for some reason, this knife didn't get auctioned until November 2009. I won the auction, and it was like stepping back in time.

Here's a very cool Busse Custom Shop Steel Heart E Variant. It features a 7.5" gently recurved blade with a double cut non-glare finish. The overall leangth is 13.25". The handles are hand shaped from Busse Combat's exclusive Snake Skin canvas micarta.

This blade is on its way to Spark for the BLADEFORUMS benefit auction!!!

I oiled them with mineral oil.

I've tried WD-40 on them and they never looked that good, I ended up washing it off.
I will try mineral oil but I think because they are a little worn and not factory fresh
they will never look like yours.

With the exception of #42, the orange was rather subdued. That led me to oil #27. Give it a try. What I recommend is to wash the handle with warm water and a mild soap with an old toothbrush. scrub 'em really well, then let them dry completely, and then use plain mineral oil. Blot the handles with a generous amount and let it soak in as much as possible before wiping off the excess. Lemme know how it works for yours.

Before doing the above, you might want to do a spot test to see if it colors the way you want it. Easier to clean a spot than to re-scrub the whole handle again. :thumbup:

It does. Would probably get too orangy if I oiled that one. Forgot to mention that water by itself gives you a great preview of what the oil will change the handle color to.
