Bad Moore Maker Review?

Thank you all for the information. I didn't know much about MM until until this thread. I'm interested to handle some in person now, especially the Queen-made knives.

I already posted this the last time that review was referenced, bad experience with the large yellow sodbuster carried in a leather sheath. Very weak backspring. Buying it along with a couple of substandard cases has pushed me away from traditional knives. bad luck I guess.

I experienced very weak backsprings on both the large and small MM sodbusters. Great disappointment.

I'm on a MooreMaker tangent right now. Just got two of them and I love them. A tad over priced but you can get them for under 60 bucks. The extra you pay for a S&M is worth it for f/f. The thing about the MM's is the fact that they are meant to be users, so fit & finish isn't as important unless your as anal about knives like me. The Muskrat is perfect in every way as far as fit & finish. Nice steel, and they are different looking with the horn and shield. Sure, if you study them and look at the inside liners, you can see they aren't hand finished or anythink. The stockman I got I had to file the liners and bolster edges tho make them even.I now like it, like the review on this thread, the guy finished the knife himself. The knife is small and the blades make that hard to do, so I guess thats why they didn't, unless this knife is just one that got by some lazy dude on a Friday afternoon waiting to pound down a few.The Muskrat is perfect and needs nothing. The thin blades will be good for filleting or delicate work. I'm sure the blades will take on a nice patina. I find the blades to be tight wit no blade wobble. I'm not sure how the horn will stand up over time in the pocket.
The other thing is Camillus being outy of buisiness, will this make these knives more desireable?

Anybody have experience with their small yellow handled lockbacks?

Been eyeing some on the Bay but hesitate over the fit&finish, they are suspiciously cheap...

I have a double yellow handle lockback. It's not been carried and I've had every intent on sending it back to MM. One blade is fine. The other blade hase excessive right and left movement and very low back spring pressure. Once its locked up though it very tight.

Judging from the price I would stay away from the delrin MM's.The horns are toted as a working line. They can be had cheaper on ebay.Anyone know how horn holds up? I know it's easy to shape up with a blade.
