This guy agreed to buy my Rucki via PM, said he was sending a money order today (monday) then messaged me this morning saying his "wife wouldn't let him"

IMHO, you should be certain you can complete a transaction before agreeing to it.

Don't trust this guy. He's a flake

You should absolutely be sure that you will complete a transaction before you enter it. I fully understand your frustration.

That being said, there are much worse things coming up in TGTBTU almost daily. I don't think I would completely rule out dealing with the fella, I would just make sure to take a backup buyer or have him pay immediately via PayPal. Just my .02

That is what you call "Buyer's Remorse".
The all too obvious bright side is:
You are not out any money, you are not out a knife, you found out the same day. Hard to call it a loss at all. Next.

Yep, I would never do it, but it happens at times. I've had it happen to me, and I'm sure many others have as well.
I didn't start a thread over it when it happened to me. As RevDevil has said, at least you're not out of anything.

A few days ago, he was on a buying spree, posting "I take it" on three threads. Overextended? We don't encourage backing out like this, but anyone can make a mistake. I would wait for more serious failures before crying "flake".

it was my fault and I did my apologize to the Op. I made several buys on yesterday ( via paypal ). I already got a MO for the op before the wife found a pending charge on our share debit card ( i think the bank call in to verify ) and I have to tell her the truth.
Good luck with your sale OP.

For future reference, unless you can financially afford it, do not put yourself on the hook. Spending money like crazy is a surefire way to piss off any wife. A little common sense goes a long way.

My advice would be to take the moral high road and let it go without bringing it to the attention of everyone here in the GBU. People make mistakes, people back out sometimes, people are people. No big deal.

That doesn't seem like a good situation to put yourself in. Just to let you know, I don't have a bad opinion of you because of this thread. I'd rather someone not pay than get in trouble financially/with wife.

At least he had the stones to let you know that he couldn't follow through....

I would have let it go at that....

Me too.Besides a deal is not done until both sides are happy here.He could have done much worse.Once the wife gets involved things can go downhill quickly.Good luck to both parties in future dealings.

I am a member of another very large forum where buyers are banned for welching on a deal. Its simple: if you agree to purchase something you follow through with it or suffer the consequences. The system seems to work very well on that forum.

Maybe BePrepared thought it a good idea to bring this to everyone attention to benefit you in the future. I mean if you can't take a mans word on a forum like this what else is there?

Lets look at it as a learning experience. Obviously, if the lesson isn't learned and the behavior continues, it will have been a good idea to report it. I bet phkk got the message, though -- from both sides!

As for the other forum, each website has its own history, and rules are usually a response to the more serious problems that arise regularly. We would certainly consider the same if we were to see the behavior become prevalent here. Fortunately, we haven't.

this did happen to me a few times also, don't commit to buy if you cant hold your word...
2 of them where +1000$ tranactions :thumbdn::thumbdn:

Cross-Forum Bashing Reported...:D ^

"A deal is not a deal until both parties are happy." usually works well for everyone. :)

BP, you jumped the gun, imho.

phkk, don't OVERspend.
You aren't the guy in NJ that just hit the Powerball. ;)

Doug

:D I hope the OP is kooling off from the negative feedback I just received :D.

I submitted a request to Spark to have that removed, there was no deal so the is no feedback to be left from a deal that never happened. Submitting an iTrader rating out of spite isn't going to fly.

If you need to ask permission to make a purchase, it's best not to commit to doing so until you've been authorized by upper management. Integrity means something here and if you cannot follow through, then do not create waves for folks wanting to sell their items. Continual flaking on a deal will create problems that no one needs.
