Last weekend I places an order with Brian at Discount knives. As he sends all his products out priority mail I know I should have got it either wed or thurs. I have called him numerous times and e-mailed him numerout time but he will not answer anything. Is he out of business? At any rate I e-mailed a while ago and told him to cancel my order if he has not sent it out yet. Needless to say I will no longer do business with him.

Golly Geepers, I must have been lucky. I'm a dealer and Brian got an item to me that I could not locate for a customer of mine. Ordered it on a Friday, showed up on Tuesday.......? He didn't even make a dime off me.

Post, seeing that you are a postal employee from your profile, certainly youd understand that sometimes priority mail doesnt get priority.Five or six days isnt all that late,i bet its in your mail box tommorrow or wendsday.I have heard good and bad about Brian, but out of maybe 4-5 orders i havent had any problems.

I had ordered from him before and had good service. Would order on the weekend and get things by wed. This order was for 2 benchmade torx sets. I had bent the clip on my benchmade and needed to take the clip off to straighten and needed a #6 torx wrench which you can`t find locally. My problem was that I started e-mailing him on thurs just to see if he had mailed it out. Because if he had not I would order it from someone else. Finally after 3 or 4 e-mails and numerous phone calls he e-mailed me on I believe sunday morning and told me they were out of stock and they were on back order. Now I ask you would it have been to much trouble to have told me that when I ordered it or on the monday after? I don`t think so.

post,

Do you really believe that you are entitled to come on this forum and blast Brian (or other members/dealers) because he didn't get back to you IMMEDIATELY? Be serious, maybe the guy was out of town or tied up with some problems, or heaven forbid, trying to get some rest. Instead you choose to try and act like he "owes" you an E-mail reply within an hour or two of you sending your's. Get real. And all of this over a $5 set of Torx wrenches

BTW, Have you ever heard of a little store called SEARS? They just happen to have the Torx screwdriver that you need. And even if you don't have a Sears near you, a 3 day wait for an order is not going to harm you.

Jailhack, Please correct me if I`m wrong but I thought the good, bad, and ugly forums was the proper forum to take out my frustration. What say old boy? As for the 5.00 torx kit I`ll have you know they are 10.00. And as far as sears having torx wrenches in #6 they don`t. I went to sears and tried to get them. He did not have them in stock and said he could not get them. Have a great day Hack. Walker

I just bought a T6, T7, T8, and T9 Torx drivers from the local Sears hardware.

Oh yeah, to stay on topic.....

Give the guy a few days to get back to you.

I've been out of town for 5-10 days at a time and not been able to get back with people.

Well, post, if you've had good service before from Brian, why didn't you cut him a little slack ? I've been buying knives from him for two years, during that time there were one or two times that he didn't get back to me for 24 hours (give or take), bhut overall, he did very well and I got very good pricing. Usually people jump in here when they have been more than patient and the dealer has really been neglectful, you are kinda pushing it. I notice you've also been ragging on Rekat lately too, I guess it's not your month (year, whatever).
Sorry for jumping down your throat, but this gets old after awhile, as you'll note by the other guys responses above. Walk a mile in the other guy's shoes, y'know?

Yea Brian, guess you`re right. Having been a postal window clerk for going on 34 years and putting up with nonstop bullcrap from everyone I guess it`s finally getting to me and I`m starting to take it out on others. As you know many postal workers finally break. Oh well, I`ll try to cool it and back off. You`re right, Brian is a good guy and I have ordered many knives from him and got good service from him but I do wish he would answer his phone.

I have bought several knives from brian and the real brains behind his operation- his WIFE and have never had a problem. Great people to deal with.

Oh ana a kin tok aiz weil aze di rist ov em.

My experience with Sears has been pretty bad. The clerks simply do not know where the merchandise is.

Torx and other miniature precision screwdrivers are carried however. It is $15 (IIRC) for their catalog #941670 set of twelve pieces. This includes slotted, phillips, and four Torx drivers, T6-T-9. They are available individually for $2.50 each.

You can also get a little pack of four hex drive bits in T-10,15,20 and 25 for $4. Cat #941402. It is a little tiny 3" x 3" white plastic envelope, however, and takes some finding.

Hope this helps, Walt

The following e-mail was sent to post on the 22nd of May.

Mr. Walker

I'm sorry but I'm completely sold out of the Benchmade Torx set. I don't
expect to receive any replacements until after the 1st of June.

Do you want me to hold your order and ship the Torx set when I receive my
backorder?

Brian

No, just cancel the order, I have some now. But thanks for getting back to me. Sorry for all the flack i`ve given you. I`m sure you don`t deserve it. Thanks again.
