Hers's what I know:

Sep. 8th: Entered into a pm/agreement with Solar001 over the next few days about a fixed blade advertised here on BF for sale or trade.
We agreed to a trade with money. I got his phone number, so we could have a voice conversation clearly defining the expectations we each where to fulfill.
Such as when we were shipping, method, insurance, shipping address, condition of both knives, etc. as well as the difference in money.

Notable points.
Knife was described as New. From Blade show 2022.
When I received the knife, it had a scratch on the non-presentation side. It does have to be in certain light. none the less.
Money was not in the box. Not a great amount by any means.
He still hasn't sent it. Thought when I reminded him it was not in the box. He said, "he would get it right out". He mentioned "Forgot it on the nightstand". Will get it out asap.
I had multiple points of contact.
Not responding to any of those. Voice, BF pm, email.
His Gmail account is now bouncing back saying. Your message wasn't delivered because address couldn't be found or is unable to receive mail.
The BF ad seems to have been edited or pulled down.

One more important factor.
It's my understanding that another member here sent his knife to this guy, as a trade for the same knife. Maybe he had 2 of the same ones. But never mentioned it in the ad.

Caution when dealing with Solar001 aka Robbie / Robert in Little Rock, AR. This is brief of transaction, but I believe that it shows the possible intent of the member.

Assume you both shipped at the same time and that you didn't request for him, as a new member, to ship first?

This is correct. I’ll expand on my part of the transaction with solar001 when I’m finished at work this evening.

Me either. I am not trying to victim-blame here, but I mean, no feedback and like three posts. Definitely not someone I'd be trying to work a trade with. 🤷

I didn't want to "lecture". Already felt bad for the members that got hosed. Just hope people see this and learn.

For my end of the transaction I will say this:

The user and I agreed to a 1:1 trade over communication here and through email. The communication was over multiple days starting on the 9th and culminating on the 14th. I asked for pretty specific pictures of the knife but didn’t ask for a timestamp. The user then sent me a USPS tracking number that only ever showed as a pre shipment label. I shipped my half of the trade. After a day went by and there was no activity on the tracking number I attempted many times to contact Robbie (the name he also gave me)
to no avail. I was able to RTS my package and luckily it arrived safely back at my house and not in the hands of a thief.

As for dealing with a new member with no feedback, I felt as me also being relatively new here, I could offer some leeway in regards to common formalities. This was also an huge mistake on my part.

Others I have dealt with have often recieved a free sticker or accessory from me in their package,in my effort to build reputation here. I will not name names but when I can I try to be generous. This is obviously not the behavior Robbie chose to exhibit, and shame on him for that. But I still hope to encourage other to deal with newer members like myself.
May you all have a good weekend.

Lesson re-learned. One of the frailties of being human. You want to give people the benefit.
Really just wanted to to warn you fine folks.
