Bad TDI clip?

no way this was kabars fualt it was the seller.

Yeah well after a little bit of work it seems like new. I got rid of the oily stuff on the paint and used a piece of paracord to tie down the clip to re bend it. I guess I was just upset cause I was really looking foward to it and I kind of let myself get way to hyped up about it.

That is *exactly* how new TDI clips come from the factory--not the seller's fault at all. Ka-Bar's TDI blades are great, but the clips are a mess when you get them. Mine was a greasy, black oxide mess as well, but I've been carrying it for almost a year now without issue. Mine was bent the same way too, but it holds onto my belt perfectly fine when drawing from concealment because of the little hook on it.

I also bought a TDI clip for my BK11 from a dealer on EBay (seller name - Belote). It was also full of rust. I WD40ed it and scraped it. Most of it came off, but still some remained on the clip underside. It is difficult to access that part of the clip without bending it. I emailed the seller, informing them of my dissatisfaction. I was told to return it and would be refunded. I told them that I did not have the time, nor energy to deal with it. And what's remarkable is that the seller had a 99% approval rating. Go figure. Anyway, I now own a BK11 / BK2 (ecstatic with it) / BK9. I will be buying another Train Wrecker, as I want to keep one virgin, just to look and marvel at. I'm not sure that I will get a Bk7 because I don't know what to use it for that would supplant my Cold Steel GI Tanto. Both are seven inch blades. In the end I will probably get a BK7 just for the heck of it.

I think that was the guy I got it from too, I think I got the wrong link earlier.

sounds like these things are made of the very simplest spring steel with a little temper... perhaps a better material could be made. i'm now completely turned off of the concept though, which makes me sad. time to make my own?

That would be great. Send pics when done. I will probably remove this one if any operational problem develops. Man...., we complain about third world shoddy workmanship, but it's even more painful when getting shafted by stateside fellow countrymen. Damn, damn, damn!!!!
