Dear All,

I would like to publicly apologize to Attila for backing out of a deal and getting his hopes up. I had originally contacted him about a knife he had for trade. I originally wanted to buy it off him as soon as I had some cash. He was very accomodating about this. I looked around my collection to see what I might be able to trade since I had no knifecash. I offered him a knife that I thought I wouldn't miss. After a few days I realized that I would probably miss the knife very much once it was gone, not because I use it so much, but because I have a sentimental attachment to it. I'm very sorry that I had to back out of this trade. I'm even more sorry for getting Attila's hopes up about the knife then deciding I couldn't part with it. I still very much would like to buy the knife like I had originally planned, that is, if Attila still wants to deal with me.

If you deal with UW Mitch be warned. He's one of those guys who gets attached to knives.:eek::mad: I will seriously try my hardest to not let something like this happen again.

Sincerely,
Mitch

p.s. no knives or money were shipped/lost/stolen or anything like that...but it's really not the point :(

Mitch,

Thank you for the public apology. It really wasn't necessary, but I appreciate it. I am more letdown than actually mad. I was looking forward to the knife & poof it ain't gonna happen... :(

I know what sentimental value means. I just hope that when we deal in the future, we can both be on the same page. I will hold the knife you are interested in for you, lest something unforseen occurs. Again, thank you.

Mitch

It takes a real man to stand up and apologize in public.

I for one, commend you on your honesty and integrity.

Happy holiday's!

Thanks Code3, but I don't want to turn this into "aw, that was real nice of Mitch to come out and aplogize." I really hate those kinds of threads - I'm not trying to get support on the issue at all...I know I was very wrong.

I just wanted to start this thread so that whenever someone does a search on me in the GB&U they can find out that while I have done lots of trading/buying/selling without any problems in the past 2+ years, my record is not spotless. Some people like to deal with folks who have spotless records - they should know that maybe they might not want to deal with me. On the forums we move very expensive knives all the time and base it all on faith and reputation. I have let down the faith that Attila had in me.

I thank Attila for his patience and understanding in the matter...he is the one who deserves some praise.

~Mitch
