Bad week :(

It does not hold itself in the handle. Don't take that torsion bar out.

Stick: They rock, Jim imparticular. :D

First my Knockout was less than stellar and now this...

My less than a week old 1555 Ti Cryo torsion bar snapped! #*%$!!! Kershaw doesn't have the parts in stock and Blade HQ is out of stock for a replacement.

I'm having Blade HQ send me preposted label to return the knife. I need advice from CRYO owners. Has anybody else experienced any issues with the torsion bar? If not, I got a bad egg and I can simply wait a few weeks for my new Cryo to arrive. If there are others, then I'll just request a refund.

My first 10 Kershaws have been awesome. I really need to get out of this slump :(

Edit: I don't mean torsion bars in a general sense. They are reliable and I'm aware of that. I am only referencing the specific torsion bar in the Cryo. Sorry for any confusion.

I had the torsion bar snap in my Cryo about an hour ago. Similar to you, I've had the knife for a little over a week. I've flipped it out quite a bit in the past week (we all know that it's addictive!), but it wasn't necessarily rapid-fire in-and-out flipping - just here and there every 30 minutes or so while admiring the knife.

Please note that I'm not posting this to gripe or pile on Kershaw, as I think they're truly a great company. I only intend this to be a data point for those who are interested. I'm well aware of Kershaw's top-notch customer service and simply plan on giving them a call Monday.

For what it's worth, I absolutely adore this little knife! A Hinderer-designed knife for $30 is an amazing product. It actually works well as a thumb-stud opener without the assisted feature - though I do much prefer using the assisted flipper opening.

Dude! Mine JUST snapped too. I maybe cut 4 boxes with it the last two weeks carrying it on and off. And the finish was rubbing off. Kershaw seems to have dropped the ball.

i wonder if a better spring can be made out of some wire or something? mine's about two weeks old and have had no probs yet, just some wear on the blade finish.

This thread was never meant as a "pile on" type for degrading this knife or Kershaw. I was frustrated at the time and had already contacted Kershaw CS prior to posting. They handled my situation above and beyond the call of duty and I couldn't be happier with my 1555ti.

With that being said, This knife has had very little negative feedback and a whole bunch of positive glowing reviews. In terms of making yourself a "data point", it's probably unnecessary. We were/are in the VAST minority of Cryo owners who experienced an issue.

Please consider this thread closed. If a mod would like to "shut it down" I'd be more than happy. Thank you.
