I saw a thread on bad stabilizing and that's what made me think of posting this.. I've never had a problem with wood I stabilized ( I know its not the way its done by WSSI or Knife and Gun) but here goes: Oak burl dried for 2 years in the attic and then nuked in a ziploc before putting it in the wood hardner under vacuum. It sinks, I let it dry for a month and then do it again.
The other day I noticed a drip or run, this is after twice under vac and 3 months since then. The other piece is a cow shin bone from a local butcher that I was going to Jig and dye and noticed a blueish spot in the bone. I already had suspicions so after grinding off the top above the color---.22 bullet! its either that or #4 buckshot and being healed in the way it was I've got to beleive the cow was alive when some goon shot him in the leg.Ouch!
Ken.

Dang gone Ken Those people up there in your part of the country must be MEAN to go around shootin cows in the leg and leavin them to fend for them selves. Think that's a hangin offence down around here.

A lover's quarrel? :p

Reminds me of a joke.....

A dog with a bandage on his front leg came limping into a bar and said, "I'm looking for the man that shot my paw."

Never said it was a good joke.
