I saw a thread on bad stabilizing and that's what made me think of posting this.. I've never had a problem with wood I stabilized ( I know its not the way its done by WSSI or Knife and Gun) but here goes: Oak burl dried for 2 years in the attic and then nuked in a ziploc before putting it in the wood hardner under vacuum. It sinks, I let it dry for a month and then do it again.
The other day I noticed a drip or run, this is after twice under vac and 3 months since then. The other piece is a cow shin bone from a local butcher that I was going to Jig and dye and noticed a blueish spot in the bone. I already had suspicions so after grinding off the top above the color---.22 bullet! its either that or #4 buckshot and being healed in the way it was I've got to beleive the cow was alive when some goon shot him in the leg.Ouch!
