Bada bing, bada boom!

Bohler. Bohler everywhere... :D

Wanted to try something from Extrema Ratio and this was the... tamest?... design I could find. The name makes me lol. Good knife though. Kind of a modern interpretation of the slim and svelte classic Italian stiletto...

La Vespa -sak type scout knife-has 2 different steels I think. If anyone knows anything about them I'd love to hear it. Already posted in traditionals where I usually lurk.
cheers.

Hi! Had to post here :)! Here is my contribution to the Italian knife manufacturing industry so far :). Overall, I think they’re all doing a good job with Lionsteel that, in my opinion, best embodies the passion, the innovation and the Italian design and style .

The ER BF2 CT. A good folder from an apt series by Extrema Ratio. N690 steel.

Lionsteel TRE in M390 steel and a mid/tech traditional pattada from Vittorio Mura in carbon steel.

A little Jersey U. love also. Fuhgetaboutit....
RIP Gandolfini

And love for my O's, still hanging on strong to that wildcard spot.

Definitely both great and handsome little edc's.
Personally I like the Viper a little bit more though.
The I-talians definitely do tickle my fancy though, I'm sure I'll have more in the very probable future coming my way.

I actually just 2 weekends ago gave my Lionsteel Work Knife to my dad, thing was still all but mint. He was in town from Jersey visiting his grandson, carrying a crappy old dull and worn out gerber EZ out :( ... I did put a real quick working edge on it for him, and while we chatted he said he prefers combo edges and back locks, so I just casually walked away to my bedroom mid conversation, came back out and said, "here", handing him the knife. (I also gave him a brand new small cheap Kilimanjaro Vertice I never carried because it was too small for my liking. Not a bad cheap china made knife though for the price. I carry a large one in my work rotation).
Must say, the old man made out pretty good on that trip...

I've been eye-balling the Viper Keeper for some reason. I thought it was kinda fugly at first glance, but I really like the blade shape and canvas micarta scales. It's grown on me, I reckon.

No love for Italian knives, eh? Wow.

I reckon I'll just leave this pic of a sexy little FOX 271 Elite in more Bohler N690Co and tulip wood scales, and let this thread slip quietly into the void... :o

Great looking knife.

Here's another folder well-made in Italy by LionSteel for DPx Gear. Remember the rumours of an Izula folder (read: unicorn ) and those tantalizing teaser proto pics? Me too. I grew tired of waiting so I bought one of these as proxy; seemed close as I would get in this lifetime... :grumpy::D

It's actually a very good knife on its own merits. All the additional tool features may seem novel, maybe even goofy, but they are well-integrated and unobtrusive. The 1.0 was plagued by spotty QC issues but, if my knife is any indication, the 2.0 is good to go. Well built, quality materials, very decently priced.

Yes, Lion Steel is a very good reference and I would add Viper (Tecnocut). Both are from Maniago, the Seki City of Italy. Here under are two of my favourites : Lion Steel Opera (small) and the Viper Venator, a knife with amazing fit and finish. Viper also has a range of traditional inspired patterns which are definitely worth a look.

I like the small Opera although I think your's have nicer stag than mine. It could use a nail nick however.

@ 22 rimfire : I actually never missed the nailnick on these knives ! The high hollow grind makes it very easy to pinch the blade (as they are lockbacks, the pull is soft). And it makes the blade so easy to keep clean.
