Bader contact wheel?

looking for a 4 inch bader contact wheel but want the larger bearing assembly they use on their 6”+ wheels.

Checked most places and they have 4” wheels but they use the small bearing assemblies. Looking to do some hogging and those wee bearings can’t go too fast.

Appreciate the help

Call Pop, he can get anything Bader. And it is almost always less expensive. He saved me about $100 on my 14” wheel.

Bader will make custom contact wheels, but often with a minimum order. CRC will do one offs of anything imaginable, but they are expensive.

I've had a Bader for going on 35 years. The bearings on the 4" wheel are still in good shape. I believe two factors are at play - good quality bearings to start with and the bearings are riding on precision machined axles..... NOT hardware store bolts. I wouldn't worry about hogging with them.... assuming you use the whole Bader wheel/bearing/axle.

I did finally start to notice a little wobble in the 8" wheel (which sees more use) with the larger hub. Pressed out the bearing/axle assembly last night. Found that it's a actually a "water pump bearing" assembly. The bearing is over 1.5" wide! Have to replace the whole assembly, axle and all, as the axle is grooved for the balls to ride in. Trick now will be to find one here.

Jd thanks for sharing that. I’ve heard Vader’s bearings are the best. Geoff I’ve contacted Crc as their wheels are great but your right also blurry pricey.

Going off bader website you can’t get a 4” contact wheel with the large bearing assembly it’s small wheel style up to 5” 6 and above is larger bearings.

I always forget about pops appreciate that calling them tomorrow.

I know Beaumont has 4” contact wheels but their quality control seems to be slipping lately and given the price of good contact wheels like to only buy once.
