Have a chance to pick up Bader Space Saver grinder. 5HP with Variable speed. Is it worth $800?

Does anyone have any experience with that particular model?
What size belt? How it is different from bench mounted models? How easy to get attachments? Etc,

Thanks in advance.

I'd buy that for $800. Even as a dedicated hollow grinder, that big contact wheel, and 5HP variable, are worth it. You can get belts made of any length- Klingspor will do it, but I believe that there are other companies that will that offer a wider range of products. Hope someone chimes in with that. My vote: if it makes sense for your shop in terms of floor space, if it runs OK, if it works with your power supply in the shop, and if you don't need it to be super versatile (one grinder shop) BUY IT!

Salem said it all, if it fits your needs it's a good deal.
The 5HP and Variable control alone are almost worth that, plus it's a Bader. I'd buy it, if even for the parts to make something else.

Yeah 90 to nothin' it's 220V 3ph input. Which means you're going to need a fairly large phase converter to run it, with the current motor/drive, unless you've got a shop with 3 phase service (if you don't know, you don't have it). Even if you spend $1,000 on a 7.5 or 10hp RPC, you got a great deal and you just added the ability to power all sorts of nice industrial equipment, which can usually be had for pennies on the dollar compared to "hobby" sized machines.

If you're just looking for a cheap grinder to start, might not be ideal. I'd buy that in a heartbeat though, and I certainly don't need it.
