What does your FAMILY carry?

BOE-1.jpg

That there is my son. All 5 years and 6 months of him.

As I've mentioned before, he's big on doing "Da stuff" and I've got him started on knife skills and archery and shooting and wilderness walking. And birdwatching, lately. Well, he got a new bag for winter solhannuchristmas, and some new gear to put in the bag! We don't call it a bugout or PSK bag, it's an EDC thing, so it's definitely a BOE

The bag came courtesy of one of our BF members! And so did that not-so-little Leatherman Wave. Man, is he happy with both. The bag lives on him, and the first night he had the LM he cut a few old straight branches into a pile of 20 odd "doggy sticks"

Closeup, showing his altoids tin coloring kit, compass (and thermometer) and Sbiner, binocs and bouncy ball. Hey, this is a five year old's kit!

Maze book, rubber frisbee, grundig FR-150 solar dynamo flashlight radio (he use that a LOT), and first aid slash condiments box.

KNIVES!!! and his whistle. One of the freebies from Tracy Mickley. The belt knife is a "big brother" to my necker pattern, it's more than a full hand grip in length for him and pretty safe to hold onto. The necker is just a little necker using a scrap from the wenge block I made his great grandfather's desk knife (handle) out of.

Also on there is his latest leather project, and address tag he did the full double stitching on and is going to do some lettering and stamping on it tomorrow and then eventually dye it, I'm sure.

That's great that the little guy is interested in outdoors stuff already and his kit is awesome, good on ya bro !!!!

That is really awesome! I'm jealous of all his stuff.
Now a 5 year old with pepper in his condiment stash??? Next year he'll have a little tabasco bottle I suppose :D

Hey koyote, I think your son has better gear than I do. :o

It's great that you're getting him out there and doing things early on.

Doc

Actually, I think I have a better assortment of crayons, but otherwise.................. :o

That makes me think, what are crayons made of and are they flammable?

Awesome ! You're a great Dad. He looks like he's having a ball. BTW, I think my Grand Daughter is in love. We're going tomorrow to buy goodies for her BOE, then she see this. (she is usually on my lap at the computer if she's here and I'm on it. )

She's only 2 so he may be a bit old for her :) But 10 yrs from now

Good stuff Christof, …thanks for sharing. ;)

Those are great pics and kits. In the future when you show your sons fiance that picture its going to explain a lot!:)

Christof, thats awesome. Hes a cute, mischievious lookin little dude.

The altoids tin with "colors" on it cracked me up. Thats a 5 year olds PSK for sure!!!

Great little setup for the lad. I dont imagine my 4 year olds kit would look much differant, with the exception of a hot wheel or 2.

Very cool post. I love kids.:)

The crayons aren't flammable, alas, though the pencils in the kit could be used for kindling...

Cool looking kit fo your kid. I'm jealous of his hat too, I need to get something like that.
