Bahco Laplander or Silky

I have a yellow silky big boy and it's an amazing tool. It cuts through just about anything and it cuts super fast. I still like my little gerber sportsman's saw... but the silky is just so much more saw in every way. Not just size.

The first folding saw I ever bought was a Fiskars pruner ... I was not at all impressed by it's performance.

I have one of their sliding saws with the li'l carabiner clip on it and it's a very nice saw for how light it is. I plan on picking up some Silky saws for the shop in the near future, though, and when I do I get the feeling the Fiskars is going to get kicked out of my pack.

I have been sawing up a storm lately with that little Stanley Fat Max that JV3 spoke of a while back. It works well but is tiresome on anything over 4-6 inches thick. Or maybe I'm just a wussy. :D Very aggressive blade teeth but more of a ''Keep in the trunk'' saw for me. I'm new to the outdoor saw game, so on the bell curve right now. I'm totally cool with any folding saw that can process wood in the next size step up from kindling, or a bit more, in fire starting. That is my basic requirement for a folding saw along with emergency shelter construction which would likely almost be a non existant rarity. I figure that a survival shelter is from whatever materials are readily available. I'm in farming country now so I'd rip up one of those huge round bails that stand about five feet high out here.....That type of thing.
