Mr. Bailey is just so incredibly talented! You guys certainly have some terrific examples of his work.

Thanks tons for sharing! Some very good pictures also....

WOW, I am truly flattered. I have said it before; to enjoy doing what I do is a blessing, but to have others enjoy my work is ten times a good. Thanks for all the compliments.

Murray,

I am going to call you " Mr. Persuasive". I don't know how you talked Roger out of that damascus "Bell" piece.

I am getting ready for the Blade show, and will try to get descent pics of them to post.

BTW, can one of you e-mail me with info on how to post pictures with this new format?

Thanks

Bailey,

I'd like you to make me a bowie when you have the chance.

My home email is bladesrus@comcast.net

If you can take calls during the day, I can call you and we can discuss the particulars, etc.

The wares shown here by others has brought another maker to my attention, very nice work indeed sir.

Well, though I have a ton of pics of Baileys work, with my newborn son here, i find little time to post them, go figure. :)

Heres one though, of 3 of his lockbacks, bale locks actually, amazing design, materials, and of course, F&F.

Ho Hum, just another awesome bowie.

Bailey sure knows how to turn out a BIG blade that is beautiful, elegant, well-balanced and quick in the hand.

Pic from knifeart.

Hey, stop showing these pics of Bailey's knives! My brain "can no stand the strain, Captain". :)

Fortunately, I'm now on his list to get a custom bowie from Bailey sometime in the future.

It will have embellishments and these have been left up to Bailey and his imagination so that it surprises me when it arrives.

My crystal ball says you'll be glad you did and you'll be pleasantly surprised. When this one arrived at the office the rest of the day was a complete write-off - I just couldn't stop staring at it. :D

Hi Roger,
That is definately embellishment of the highest order on that end cap of yours.

I gave Bailey quite a bit of wiggle room to manuever financially with this so I anticipate something spectacular in about a years time.

That's one sweet handle on that knife you have, congrats and thanks for sharing the pic here for us.

If I only had some $$$ right now, it would be a nice addition to the stable. :)

Bailey's lockbacks, or bale locks, same principal, are extremely well made, with exceptional actions, no play, smooth, as good as it gets, and truly underpriced for what you get.

Its gonna hurt to let this one go... :)

Updating with some eye candy previously posted in other threads:

12 1/4" bladed "S" guard bowie. The blade is clay heat treated W-2. The hamon is faint but visible. I wanted the overall shape and size to be the focus, not the hamon. The fittings are heat colored and gold inlaid. I forged the scrolls on the guard with my little peening hammer. The ricasso is wrapped in silver. The handle is amboynia burl (best piece I have ever used)

Integral bowie. Mastodon ivory, sculpted ricasso and 11" "falling ladder" pattern damascus. The finial is heat colored and gold inlaid. The pommel is sculpted damascus.

Presentation hunter with amboynia burl handle. Blade is 5" of 1095. Guard is sculpted engraved with gold inlaid borders.

Next, the Bowie No 1 reproduction. This one is to deliver to a customer. It was a tough knife to make. Jerry Fisk, Roger Massey and a couple of others said they wouldn't make another one. I can see why....

Finally, a 10" bladed snakewood and damascus bowie:

Wow, that's a host of stunning blades. I have a forged 3V hunter on order from Bailey. One of these days I'll have to get a Bowie and a folder, his work is too beautiful and unique to pass up.
